Sukha house was a great experience of peace and solitude. Just what was needed to get away from the stressors of life and focus on what really matters. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get away for the weekend and find peace. The house had everything you needed and more. It was nice to not have cell service, but maybe a land line would be helpful just in case of emergencies. Hope this place continues to bring people happiness!
When we arrived Bonnie, Wendi's sister who lives in the area, left us a welcoming note and contact information. During our stay, Bonnie was helpful in addressing my questions. Sukha is an extraordinarily lovely new home, full of artistic and high-end touches, very spacious and peaceful, and set in a beautiful forested hillside at about 2500 foot elevation. It lies about 2 miles from Route 64, midway between Franklin and Highlands. Not having WIFI or cell phone coverage was probably a good healthy respite for our bodies! There is also no land line phone, which made my safety-concious husband a bit nervous about how we would get help in an emergency. There are a few neighbors within walking distance, who, if they are home could probably help out in an emergency. Despite this small misgiving, we would love to stay here again!
Thank you Susan, please come again. I'll clarify about the trash and the can outside more clear in book:)
Very nice house and area. We enjoyed our stay. We did miss phone service though. We saw many waterfalls and gorgeous leaves. The trail to nearby High Falls was pretty strenuous, especially for short people (me). It was easier to climb back up. It was a beautiful falls, but I don't think I'd attempt it again!
Thank you Nancy. There are easier trails for you next visit:)
Sukha house is fantastic - well-designed, beautiful location and immaculately clean. Wendi is a great host.
It was GREAT TO Hear From Mathew again! A wonderful person Very considerate.
Hope to see you sometime again Matthew!
This is a beautiful home on in an amazing area. After a nice winding drive through the mountains you arrive to the house which is completely wooden. It smelled magnificent when we first walked in. Huge modern kitchen and ample space to move around and hang out. The back porch was great to sit out on and listen to the creek at night. Wendi was a great host making sure we had everything we needed before arriving. One thing to note is there are no electronics and no cell signal which was great for us as we were happy to get away. I highly recommend Wendi and this house for a nice mountain get away.
Taylor was a wonderful visitoer that left Sukha as was given him and added along
more beautiful Karma. Come back to keep the warmth flowing Taylor:)
Our stay at the Sukha house was incredible. The house is clean, peaceful, and the stream out back is serene. Sukha house is located relatively close to many fun things to do and wonderful sights. We enjoyed rafting on the Nantahala, the invigorating water at sliding rock, and looking at the waterfalls nearby. We also drive up to Highlands for dinner and shopping. The Sukha house allowed us to have many adventures, but also provided the peace and quiet I was hoping for, coming from a city. Our stay was, simply, perfect.
Thank you, Wendi!
My sister helps me when I am away and mentioned taking care of somethings:)
You are very kind and a great guest! Come again:)
Dear Wendi, we cannot thank you enough for sharing your amazing cabin with us. I surprised my husband with this getaway for his 40th birthday and it was truly perfect. We love the "idea" of living unplugged and in-tune with God's creation, both of which we rarely get to experience. Sukha house was the ideal place to realize both of these. We left feeling refreshed both physically and spiritually. The back deck with beautiful views of the mountains during the day, the stars at night, and the ever present sound of the waterfall below was like a dream come true. The inside of the house was as inviting as the outside. The house was extremely clean, well stocked, and handsomely decorated. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen a pleasure to work in, and the living space was relaxing. We particularly enjoyed the solitude. Although the house is in a small neighborhood with several other nice houses, Sukha house is tucked into the side of the hill and you do feel as if the whole area is yours! We did take a daily walk to the water below the cabin and then walked back up the road which passed some of the other houses, all of which are beautiful. We enjoyed a short conversation with some very nice neighbors as well. All in all Sukha house could not have been a better place for us to grow closer in our marriage and to experience God's presence in our lives.
Suhka house was perfect. I couldn't be happier with the experience. It was located far enough out to be peaceful and feel like you were away from everything, but close enough to be able to get to beautiful hiking areas and waterfalls. Very clean, everything that you would need in regards to be able to cook (utensils, etc). Books, board games, knitting kit if you get antsy from not having any electronics at your disposal. Thank you so much for allowing us into your home and making it affordable. I really appreciate it. If I end up back in that area, I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed for one week and toured the area. Beautiful hikes to waterfalls and mountain trails near highlands and cashiers also down to whitewater falls and up to tail of the dragon. The log house with a large deck was perfect and everything was as advertised. We would stay again any time in the area.

This was probably my favorite vacation experience. The cabin is in the middle of a hill that leads down to a beautiful creek that I went to almost every day. The cabin has central air & heat but the cross-wind and morning exposure to the sun make that almost unnecessary at this time of year (spring). There are a ton of beds, towels and other amenities. The kitchen is really nice so I ended up cooking 95% of my meals (the Bi-Lo on Highlands has good produce).
Wendi was a fantastic landlord, showing me around and showing her garden. I'm excited to see what the garden looks like when it is fully grown. The neighbors were also nice, and not having TV or internet was a huge relief. Many days I just sat around and read an entire book or wrote a bunch of things. I loved loved loved it and my friends did too; the place could easily handle 10 people but comfortably beds 5.
