I love the outdoors. I enjoy hiking, bike riding, swimminig, and skiing. I grew up in the Midwest and have lived in Alaska for nineteen years.
We had a very lovely time staying with Mary. She was very kind and accommodating. She had great suggestions for things to do during our short stay. The home was very welcoming and comfortable.
Our stay at Mary's place was wonderful. The room was clean, quiet and cozy. Mary is a very nice host. We had to leave early in the morning, and enjoyed her kindly prepared fruit and brownies for the breakfast. I would recommend her to people visiting Anchorage.
We had a wonderful stay at Mary's home! She was a perfect host and gave us lots of helpful info around AK. It was fun chatting with her and overall a great experience. Great hospitality, good location, and thank you for the muffins! Would love to come back again!
My dad and I were able to stay with Mary and were so glad we did! What a wonderful homey environment and such amazing hospitality! I would absolutely recommend staying with Mary anytime your in the Anchorage area and would prefer to be out of the city lights. She is just a short drive away from downtown and has a beautiful space to share!
Mary was a really nice host. We enjoyed our stay at her house a lot. We appreciated her useful travel tips and reccommend Mary to everybody who would like to have a smooth stay close to Anchorage.
My stay at Mary's home was excellent. Her home is very cozy and clean and she offered full use of the house for cooking, laundry, or for relaxing indoors or out. She was very welcoming and a great communicator in setting up the reservation as well as throughout my stay in Alaska.
The room is private and is actually two adjoining rooms that give a bigness to the space. There is also a private bathroom. The area is quiet and is ideally situated for anyone wanting to travel north to Denali or head south toward Seward and the Kenai Peninsula. About 10 minutes from Mary's house is the Chugach State Parks Eagle River Nature Center located in a stunning glacially-carved mountain landscape. You can hike a variety of trails from the Center ((website hidden)). I found Mary's house to be a great 'home base' from which to travel to a variety of important and beautiful locations while I was in Alaska.
Getting to the house is pretty easy from Anchorage by car. Mary's directions were excellent. Look for the orange pole markers with reflectors on top at the entrance to her driveway.
I was Mary's first guest through airbnb and I know she is excited about having others stay at her home. For the price and the location it is a real bargain, and with Mary as your host you'll be set for a very positive experience.
Mary and her companion were the perfect, happy, charming guests~ they seemed genuinely pleased and awed by Alaska and our beautiful little town of Homer. The time they spent here was full of adventure and I really enjoyed their excitement. I would welcome them back anytime!
