Daniel is an Airline Executive and recently moved to Geneva. He enjoys traveling and socializing. Most of Daniel's traveling is done with Sebastiao, his 13 year old son.
I had a wonderful one month stay at Daniel's place. Daniel is a great guy and was very helpful. The apartment is in a great location, with buses leaving from just outside frequently and taking about 20 mins to get to Gare Cornavin. The kitchen was well equipped, the bed very comfortable and the apartment clean. Both my bedroom and the kitchen were warm and had lots of natural light and the pool was an added bonus. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Daniel's place or to stay there again.
Room was perfect, good location only short bus ride from town. Daniel's a very nice guy who cooks mean curry! Would stay again without hesitation.
Nice place yet too private and hard to find
It is the home of Daniel's mother who is a lovely lady who speaks only Portuguese
We spent three nights at Manuela's house. It was authentic, very cozy, with a great view of the countryside. Manuela's home cooked food is great and served with a lot of love. We recommend trying her optional dinners.
However, she doesn't speak English at all, so prepare yourself for some sign language (the experience boosted my Portuguese). Also, no Wi-Fi and closest Internet cafe is 10-15 minutes drive away.
We recommend arriving during the day as the house is tricky to find after dark.
Our stay at Daniel's mother's place was really great.
The place was in the middle of the vineyards, close to the river where we could sunbathe.
Daniel and his mother were extremely nice and helpfull !
Manuela cooked for us the best portuguese dinner.
Thank you so much for everything.
A definitely unique Air bnb experience. Great house in a beautiful location. Manuela is extremely accommodating and will fill you up with home grown delicacies. Recommend having a car as you might be abit stranded otherwise. Beautiful rivers and lashings of local wine!
If you want an honest to God, true, authentic Douro Valley experience, then you've got to go hang out with Daniel's mom for a day or two. She lives out in the vineyards north of Pinhao. The view from our room was nothing but grape vines and we watched the sunset over the mountains. But you can get that in a lot of places in the area. Manuela is the star of the show. She tends her own garden, makes her own fig jam (she gave us a jar before we left), sausage, wine, brandy and pretty much everything else. For 10 euro a person extra (it's optional but i highly recommend it) you get a table full of food for dinner that she prepared from her garden and the surrounding area. She was obviously very pleased to entertain us and even though we don't speak Portuguese, we figured out a way to communicate (she speaks a bit of Spanish and German too). Really memorable experience. It's one of those things where 20 years from now i'll look back on this trip and if i don't remember anything else, i'll remember our stay with Manuela.
I have enjoyed my stay at Daniel's home. The apartment is conveniently located and accessible by public transportation. There is a small convenience store within a few mins walk which is really nice. The pools are clean and well-maintained. The area is very safe and one of the better areas of Geneva in which to live.
The room is great and spacious, with a bed and a couch. The bathroom and kitchen facilities are very clean and well-kept.
Daniel is very kind, generous and knowledgeable about Geneva and Europe. He travels frequently but if you are lucky, he will cook for you! :-) It has been a home away from home while I have been in Geneva and I am very grateful.
This was an absolutely amazing place to stay. My girlfriend and I were hosted by Daniel's mother, Manuela. She was AMAZING. Fantastic breakfast in the morning, and delicious dinner at night. The house is set on a hill, so you have beautiful views of the valley and all the vineyards in the surrounding area. It's also very close to many Quintas where you can go taste and buy port. By our second day, we were thinking about buying a place in this quiet little village. Amazing stay, would do it again in a heartbeat.
While Daniel and Linda weren't there when we stayed in there house, Daniels mother was a terrific host who spoiled us with the nicest meals, drinks and advice about the very beautiful surroundings.
This was one of the nicest area's we saw in northern Portugal, astonishing!
Daniel was a delighful guest. Everything was easy with them from the minute they arrived to the moment they left; polite, friendly, courteus...always smiling and good humoured. I can recommend them to everyone in Airbnb community.
Daniel and Linda (his girlfriend) are exemplary guests! Warm and funny it is a pleasure to share time together. a easy couple where communication is just perfect. if they request you a reservation said yes right away !

Daniel and his family are great hosts and have 2 amazing places to stay at. If you want to know more of the surrounding area or if you just wish to dive into excentric cooking and eclectic wine tastings: Daniel is the right man to host you. His son is a sporty little fellow and Daniel's mother, when around, has these sublime traditional recipes that you will not want to miss.
Daniel is friendly, clean/tidy, he keeps a promise and is very trustworthy. He is kind to animals and is a very conscientious person in general. I highly recommend!
