Had a great time. Beautiful and intriguing home with gracious hosts.
Esmond and Danielle were gracious and wonderful hosts. Their house is charming, they were helpful, and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast of French Press coffee and homemade frittatas was delicious. We cannot recommend Castle Grove highly enough.
Esmond and Danielle are incredible hosts who are attentive and thoughtful. Their home is filled with their beautiful artwork and imbued with their kindness, compassion and dedication to beauty in the truest sense of the word. We are so glad we happened upon this listing and highly recommend Castle Grove!
Esmond and Danielle were so lovely, and it was great to stay in their home. The energy of the house is incredible, and a destination itself. Centrally located to activities and shops in Glens Falls, this was a great choice for us when coming in to town to visit. Coconut waffles and homemade yogurt with a discussion of Divinity was perfect, and they were so accommodating to my faux-vegan diet.
Staying with Esmond and Danielle was such a wonderful experience. They are kind, welcoming, and gracious hosts. Their lovely home is filled with art and interesting artifacts. Our bed was super cozy on a very cold night and breakfast was delicious. Thank you for opening your home and hearts to our family.
Esmond and Danielle are amazing hosts! Their house is inviting and inspiring with artwork on every wall. The room was clean and full of light. The bed was very comfortable I slept better than I have in weeks. Breakfast was spectacular with loads of Esmond's home made waffles, fruit, coffee and danielle's home made yogurt. The experience over all was a pleasure filled with great conversation and laughs. They have set the bar high on airbnb. I only stayed for one night but I am definitely planning to come back for some rest, yoga and inspiration.
Highly recommended. This is the ideal airbnb experience: unique accommodations, friendly hosts. We were in town from Denver for a family event. This was my first adventure (and flying solo) with my then 9 week old daughter and four year old son, a somewhat unpredictable endeavor, but everything worked out thanks in part to the hospitality we received at Castle Grove. My son was really looking forward to staying in a castle, and it exceeded his expectations (and mine). The place is beautiful. It's surrounded by flowers and covered in art, from the paintings hanging on walls, sculptures tucked into the corners, handpainted murals and furniture. A warm welcome from the hosts, some sparkling water delivered on a tray, a diaper change, faces washed all around, and we were good as new. We spent the night in a quiet upstairs room, enjoying a breeze through the open window. Breakfast was lovely, with local blueberries and exceptionally good locally roasted coffee. Esmond cooked my son his favorite breakfast, and afterward the two went for a little walk around the neighborhood. Our experience could not have been better.
This is a great place to stay. The owners are very nice, caring people who went out of their way to make us comfortable. We had two incredible organic breakfasts, fresh fruit great coffee, homemade waffles, and a veggie omlet. A wonderful treat with good conversations.
The house, a former church is filled with light , color, and great art. Both owners are artists and into yoga and music. If you want to feel cared for yet not hovered over this is a place to check out. Thanks Esmond and Danielle.
Esdmond and Danielle were amazing hosts. Their breakfasts cooked with the finest ingredients and with heaps of love were the best. The one dinner we had was also excellent. Check with them about meals as they like to cook for their guests some/most of the time. If they offer, take them up on it as the food and conversation are stimulating. The old church, now castle was a nice and unique place to stay. Esmond's studio was a great place to see. We only wish we had the opportunity to hear his music though we did get to see his paintings and murals which are fantastic.
We had an amazing stay at Esmond and Danielle's beautiful home. I use airbnb a lot and have relatively high standards. Their repurposed church is absolutely beautiful, clean, and well decorated. The place has great energy and that is because the hosts are absolutely wonderful. They are both amazing artists, are friendly, and provide way more than a place to stay. They offered us breakfast and dinner (wow) plus tea and bottled water in the room. The bed was extremely comfortable (we slept so well!) and everything was clean. They have two rescued indoor outdoor cats. My partner is allergic to cats but their house is so clean we didn't sneeze once! Be sure to take advantage of Esmond's delicious coffee and frittata. If you're nice enough, he might even let you see his studio which is just amazing. The attic is currently a yoga studio and they invited us to use it.
As for the neighborhood, Glen's Falls is wonderful. We came to see the Adirondack Hot Air Balloon Festival but could easily see ourselves just for some R&R. There are some great restaurants, Davidson Bros (brewery) and theatres. It's a great town in the lower Adirondacks.
Do not think twice- this is a wonderful place to stay. I would and will recommend to others. What I love most is that the building is a part of the vacation (website hidden)'s just wonderful!
