Hi Im Bernie I have hosted guests in my home for many years, and have found this a very rewarding experience . My interests are cooking ,reading, music and learning about different cultures.
The reservation was canceled 24 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Bernie was super nice and helpful. Her kind and calm nature was evident from our first night when she had to explain to our taxi driver how to reach the house. She did not only offer to drive us to the bus stop. but directly to the shopping mall. She was also so kind as to pick us up, so that we did not have to lose our way in the complicated bus system. She was very informative and helpful through all of our rather chaotic stay. Having breakfast on the table in the morning was wonderful, and in the case of the day after the debs, at four in the afternoon. And as a final closing word I would like to say thank you once more for all the tea. :)
Bernie is an absolute angel. I stayed there for 3 weeks on holiday from New York City and she was the perfect introduction to Ireland. Clean, pleasant, and always available whenever anything was needed. Great neighborhood and whenever I needed to get to the city, Bernie would drive me to the bus stop, 5 minutes away. I couldn't have asked for a better family to be around for 3 weeks and found her place to be a safe-haven after long nights in Dublin.
There was an express bus that whenever I used it, got me to the city in about 35 min and a regular bus that took about an hour. The price difference between the two wasn't great enough not to take the express (unless you wanted to take a more scenic route!).
Bernie provided a number to a trusted taxi driver in the city if you were out super late and needed a way home.
She also allowed me to do some of my laundry while there, which was really useful for the length of my stay. The room worked well for the purpose of my trip and Bernie was more than hospitable as a hostess, providing breakfast everyday if it's something you prefer. Great conversations, great memories, and funny moments.
I had a wonderful time on my first visit to Dublin and know that I will probably return at some point in the future. Grateful to have met Bernie and her family. Very special people!
Bernie was a very nice host, we had lovely chats at her house. Although the city is quite a distance, she compromised it with taking me to the bus stop and picking me up every day! Bernie even drove me to another nearby town and waited for me while I was looking around. Her home and the neighbourhood are both relaxing. I would recommend 'clean private rooms available'.
Bernie and her two gorgeous children welcomed us with open arms into their immaculate home. Bernie's home is comfortable and iniviting, we could not have asked for more. It's only flaw lies in the location, as we spent most of our time in the city. However, Bernie gave us bus information and even drove us to the bus stop. The bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent. Breakfast was wonderful and when we couldn't have breakfast there Bernie packed a lunch to take with us. The family also included us in dinner without a second thought. All in all an absolutely wonderful homely place to stay.
Bernie was extremely kind and informative. She took care of my friend and I are like we were her own. Her home was very clean and accommodating. Close to the airport and easy to get in Dublin.
We had a great stay with Bernie and her two children. We definitely felt at home and enjoyed the room that was given to us for the few days that we were there. The Irish breakfast that she made for us was very tasty. We also had one day where we left early for a tour so she made us a packed lunch to bring along instead of a breakfast for that day which was fantastic. She was always ready to help whenever we asked. We would definitely recommend her home to anyone who is looking to relax and get a real feel for what Ireland is like. Thanks again Bernie!
