Hi I am Caroline and I live in the thatched cottage. I am fourth generation of my family to live in this 19th century thatched cottage which I recently restored. I like gardening, history and travel.
We absolutely loved our stay here! It was the perfect place to stay after a long day of driving. Caroline was incredibly accommodating and kind. The room was absolutely perfect and exactly what we needed. We never went without during our stay. Great night of sleep, hot shower, and wonderful full Irish breakfast to start our day. Highly recommend a stay at the thatched cottage!
Response from Caroline:
We didn't have the opportunity to meet Caroline since she was off but we met her friendly and welcoming family with whom it was nice to chat. When we arrived, the room was very clean and everything necessary was available, including some cookies, cakes and coffee. The breakfast was also good and generous. Thanks for everything.
Lovely stay - Caroline was super friendly and helpful, the full Irish breakfast was a highlight. The room was cozy and the cottage itself entirely priceless - a perfect slice of 'traditional' Irish living.
My stay with Caroline was short, but sweet. She's a lovely person and so is her home, which also is full of history. The area itself also looked beautiful, my only complaint is that I couldn't stay longer.
Caroline really went out of her way to be a good host. Picked me up from Cleargalway, I got sick during my stay so she drove me to the Hospital (poor her! ( :)
The house is fantastic! Really old, atmospheric, extremly well decorated and beautiful rooms...wish all the BnB s in Irealnd looked like hers and cost that Price! ( :
She also makes fantastic breakfast! Absolute bargain...
Caroline was an amazing host. We loved staying at the Thatched Cottage. A great place to stay and enjoy the countryside with friends! Next time I go back to Ireland, I'll be visiting Caroline for sure!
Caroline was very engaged with us... always ready to please and quick with very good information for local touring etc. The cottage is historic, which seems to be getting harder to find on airbnb. If you want great hospitality and a great location to explore west Ireland along with welcoming beds and showers, look no further.
Caroline was a great host! She had a lot of advices where to go and how to go there (cheap parking in Galway, Clifden via Salt Hill, pub and food) and offered delicious breakfast. A bright and large room with a nice bathroom in a calm area, not far from Galway: I had a great stay there!
