My friends and I had a great time staying in the North Villa. It's in a great part of town and we could walk right into the water. We did have trouble with the toilet but Brigitte was super helpful and recommended a great place to eat dinner. I would say its a bit close quarters for four people, which we had, but we made it work. I will definitely stay there again when I come back to Nassau!
At first my wife and I didn't plan to go to the Bahamas. Then a good friend was in need. She wanted to marry on the white beaches of the Bahamas. As the envisaged maid of honor had canceled her assurence, she asked my wife to step into the breach. We promised to come and looked for an accommadation via airbnb.
Luckily we found and booked the South- and North Villa. We stayed for three weeks at this wonderful place. The first 10 days in the North Villa, the rest of the time in the neighbouring South Villa. The furnishings of both of the accommodations is simple with basic amenities. We very much like that kind of luxus free simplicity. But what we liked most was the location: you live in the midst of palms, trees and bushes, green everywhere, listening to the birds, watching the lizzards. And just two minutes to the ocean. Every morning we went up early to jump into the ocean and have a first good morning swim. To our surprise we could watch a group of sting rays which went by at the same time every morning. We really are in love with this place! We surely will come back.
During our stay we made friends with a neighbour (B.H.) who in the end gave us Duran's book as a present ("The Opposite of Poverty is Friendship" by Duran Price. Great book, highly recommandable!).
We (2 guests) had a great stay at Coral Bay.
The house is a little small but perfect for 2 to stay.
The only thing we really didn't like was the shower, because there was almost no water coming out of the tap.
Everything you need is in walking distance. The grocery store is about 5-10 minutes and everything else is about 5 minutes.
To go downtown, where you are able to go shopping or have a drink or go to Paradise Island, you have to take the Bus. It is pretty cheap. The only problem is, that they stop running at 7ish pm, so you might have to take a cab to go back.
The beach is also about 10 minutes away but the deck on the proberty is a good opportunity to sit right by the water. We thought there would be sand by the water but there are actually rocks. There is also a staircase that leads into the water, so you are able to go swimming though.
All in all we had a great week with good weather and we were able to do swimming with the dolphins which was organised by the concierge service. Thank you for that!
Just perfect !!!
We just got back from the Bahamas and 3 nights at the Coral Bay North Villa. Communication with Duran and team was very quick and effective before and during our trip.
The North Villa was perfect for a quiet, relaxing getaway for two. It is wonderful to have great access to the water. We did yoga under the cabana one morning and loved eating breakfast out there too. Cocktails and snacks during the gorgeous sunsets were also perfect on the deck. It's not a sandy beach entry but there are rock stairs to get down to the water (it's sandy once you are in the water) and we enjoyed several swims. The wifi in the north villa worked well. The A/C unit in the bedroom was noisy but nice to have for a cool sleeping temperature. This is not a luxury property, but it was adequate and nice and quiet.
We were very happy with the overall location in cable beach. The super easy 5 minute walk to Sandals was perfect for our snorkeling trip to pick us up there one morning. It's a 5-10 minute walk to a big grocery store, and you pass several restaurants, liquor stores and shops on the way. One day we went to the public beach access area just on the other side of Sandals and it was an easy walk and beautiful sandy beach. We took the minibuses downtown for $1.25 per person and it was very easy to get around.
On our last day, after check out, we walked the 10-15 minutes to the Melia resort and bought the $30 daypasses there so we could enjoy the pool and beach before heading to the airport in mid afternoon - it was a nice option if you have a later flight.
The accommodations were adequate. Beach access was good.
A cozy, comfortable studio. Simple and a real sense of the Bahamas away from the big resorts. It was a great place to unwind, listen to the surf and the wind in the coconut palms.
We stayed at the North Villa for 4 nights and it was a great experience. The place was clean and so close to the water. We loved relaxing out at the little cabana every morning and night. Duran was very responsive to any questions we had. It was a lovely vacation for us!
It is a quite and nice neighborhood. #19 bus is right at the door. Facilities and amenities are perfectly good for small group of people to live for a while. The lady who's running the place was kind enough to talk with us and sharing fun stories. Neighbors around were warmhearted and helped us with the security key for the gate. Me and my friend enjoyed staying here very much. However the location is far away from downtown. I wish we had a car to make the staying even better.
Duran was an great guest. He was polite, considerate, and clean. Also a very engaging conversationalist. I very much enjoyed his insights during our talks.
I can't recommend highly enough Duran and his charming wife Juliana. They were guests in my home in Brooklyn for a week. It was like old friends were visiting. They were very respectful, neat, friendly, and even fed my cat while I was away for the weekend. They are just wonderful people. You will be very fortunate to have them as guests.
