I purchased this home in 2004. I love being here with my family. There are many exciting places to visit, trails to hike or bike and nearby restaurants. Or just simply remain here and relax!!! We believe you will enjoy your time here too!

The Elixir Spring Home was lovely and a great place to stay for our trip. Barbara was very accommodating as we arrived later than anticipated, and checking in/out was seamless and simple. Breakfast was great and included Easter appropriate treats for the holiday. We would have loved to stay longer and definitely would be back if visiting the area again.
Barbara was there when we arrived to greet us, as was her dog. "Tank" is a cool dog and is very friendly! The accommodations were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and served to us in the guest dining area. We didn't go to breakfast, breakfast came to us! We had no problem connecting to the wi-fi with the password that she provided. Overall, it was a nice experience.
Barbara was very welcoming, even coming out to the driveway to meet us and show us inside. The house is very nice, the bedrooms and guest spaces (living/dining area, bathrooms) nicely decorated and comfortable. She served us a delicious breakfast which she brought up to us, and was helpful with information on area dining and hiking. Our space was quite chilly when we arrived but warmed up after the space heaters ran for a while.
Wow, what a find! I can't say enough good things about Barbara and her beautiful home. I often visit Holy Cross Monastery in nearby West Park and stay there for a visit, but when they were full, I looked for accommodations nearby. It initially seemed like my only options were overpriced B&B's or grimy hotels. Then I found Elixir Spring House! I stayed in a suite on the second floor with a full kitchen, living room, and bathroom. The space was enormous! I could control my own heat, which was nice on chilly evenings, and Barbara left me with unlimited coffee and tea. Individual travelers (especially women): Barbara was super easy to get a hold of via phone or text, and she even waited for me to arrive in the evening and came out to greet me when I parked. I felt incredibly safe and cared for, yet at the same time, I had the space to myself for some good writing/reading time. This is also a great space for larger groups or families. Perhaps my favorite part of the visit was that every morning, Barbara brought me a full hot breakfast to my door. It was so much food! Delicious!
Stayed here with my wife for a weekend getaway from the city. The place is clean, quiet, and comfortable. It's very easily accesssible from the city, and is a short drive to activities and the bars/restaurants of New Paltz.
Night time is super quiet, and you can see stars upon stars.
Her breakfast is delicious, and she is flexible on timing of meals and check in/out.
Perfect for a quick and easy getaway from NYC.
We had a great stay at Barbara's place. She was super helpful about pointing out great places to go out to eat and to go hiking, and made us feel welcome right away. In the morning there was quiche, fresh fruit, bagels, juice, and coffee, and all were delicious. Would definitely stay here again, but thought the rate was a little bit pricey. Admitedly though, it is peak season for leaf peepers and hikers, so the cost is understandable.
Barbara was such a warm and gracious host. My friend and I spent a very cozy evening in this beautiful home and woke up to a delicious home-made breakfast. This was our first airbnb experience and we would recommend this place to absolutely everyone. Thank you very much Barbara!
The house was exactly as advertised: incredibly beautiful, well appointed and the rooms were spacious and lovely. Some have bigger beds than others and a few have sinks as well, which is handy. But the communal bathrooms down the hall are pristine and spacious as well. There's a separate entrance for guests so you don't have to worry about disturbing anyone when you come in late. Just be warned though, it's an old house so of course walls are thin and it's easy to hear what's going on around you. No big deal and same with any B&B in the area I'm sure. Speaking of the area, it's lovely, and perfect for a Fall getaway (or any time of year). And lastly, Barb was simply fantastic - responsive, kind, incredibly generous and helpful, and her breakfast was delicious. We will definitely be back the next time we need some R&R, and will recommend Barb's place to anyone else in the meantime!
Barbara was very accommodating! We needed a spot last-minute and this was the perfect fit! Beautiful lodging with private rooms and a cozy group scenery, and breakfast was wonderful! Would definitely recommend for groups!
