Imagine it's your last day on earth. Yes, let's be morbid for 10 seconds. What would you eat? There are no rules. You can have whatever you want. Go!
-- Oysters, small to medium, briney (sweet, salty, chilled delicacies = pure joy)
-- Champagne (Krug forever)
-- Fried chicken and french fries (says everyone)
-- Steak tartare (absolute heaven, almost primal)
-- Mashed potatoes with corn, mixed (it's a childhood + midwest thing)
-- Any vegetable in the form of a delicious spread or sauce that can be put on bread
-- Arugula salad (an attempt to feel healthy)
Drum roll: Midwest raised but left the country for big city lights post adolescence. Having discovered a taste for the finer things in life this almost big-city (ie Portland) gal likes to adventure in style but will never forget her roots.
Having worked the Portland culinary scene for many years, I'm slightly obsessed with eating, drinking, cooking, and posting up at many a bar and restaurant around town. With the other 25% of my time, I do things around my apartment, sorta like Pinterest but less mason jars and more power tools. It's all about home (self) improvement and making my space more inviting and cozy, a bonus for future guests!
As a fellow traveler, I love traveling solo. I could go anywhere and be happy with the destination because when you travel alone, you're forced out of your comfort zone - you have to meet new people and share experiences.
Ten years ago I worked on a fishing boat in Alaska. Today, I work at a startup called INFLUX doing everything and anything - we design rad products that make your wifi and mobile connections way better.
Friends, let's trade travel, share recommendations, and experience somewhere new!
