Nathan and Nashon were very thoughtful and gracious hosts. The place was as described and quite clean. The one negative, for people who are sensitive to noise, is that the building has below-average sound-insulation.
The place was nice and clean. We spend a great time in Brooklyn.
The apartment is very nice and clean. Location close to the subway makes all locomotion by NYC. I thank the host Nathan and his manager Lynishia for your attention and hospitality.
Nathan has a good, well arranged apartment. It was clean and in a good location near a subway station. If your budget isn't that high, i would recommend this one for you.
Our stay at this apartment was great. We were kindly welcomed and our host has always been available for any questions during our stay.
The apartment is spacious and very bright, and close to the subway. It suited us perfectly !!
We arrived in New York on Friday, October 26th and we're scheduled to leave on Wednesday, October 31st. Unless somehow you missed it that means we were in Brooklyn and at Nathan's throughout Hurricane Sandy! That is the context... We could not have been in a better place to last out the storm. Nathan's apartment is beautiful, spacious, and has all the comforts of home - much needed during a hurricane! And this beautiful space is on the 4th floor so we never had to worry about flooding. And as luck would have it the gorgeous trees - big old trees of the Bed Stuy neighborhood - blew around like it was their last dance but all around Nathan's made it.
But one of the best parts of this review is all about the people - starting with Nathan who kept touch with us throughout and made every effort to extend our stay if needed! The kindness and concern in his emails was comforting. In addition to Nathan, the neighborhood was WONDERFUL! A storm brings people together and we very much felt like part of the neighborhood getting to know the manager of one great restaurant - Peaches as well as kindly staff at the local markets and deli's. Even the woman in the local nursery and garden shop got to know us. To a person everyone was warm and friendly.
And one last note - not only was the neighborhood of Bed Stuy a great neighborhood but throughout our entire stay we ONLY encountered kindness! From the markets to the crazed Hertz counter in Park Slope, to every cab driver, and fellow metro riders (on one of the last trains before the subways were shut down).
I love New York! I love New Yorkers! I am so sad for all the damage done and the tragedies people are living through but once again the greatest city on earth with the people that make it way will survive and soon thrive again.
We loved the apartment. It was conveniently located close to the Metro station. We had a great stay.
The reservation was canceled 8 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Our stay in Nathan's apartment was fantastic! The apartment is just as he describes (if not better). The unit was extremely clean, and we really appreciated his aesthetic. The windows in this apartment are awesome, and the neighborhood was great to explore. Nathan's suggestions for places to check out in the neighborhood were also on point. We would definitely stay at his place again.
Nathan was a fantastic guest! He is very quiet, respectful and tidy. I highly recommend hosting him and I hope I will have a chance to do so again soon.
Nathan was an amazing first guest. We communicated well, and he left the place in amazing shape. Thanks, Nathan, for a great first hosting experience!
Nathan was a pleasure to meet: upbeat, friendly, gentle, and highly focused on his work. He has spent plenty of time living in Brooklyn houses and has clearly learned from this experience how to live closely with people while minimizing his impact on their activities and thought-space. Hence he was one of the quietest guests we have had, coming and going as imperceptibly as is humanly possible, and occupying the space in a way that would in no way risk disturbing or distracting even as sound-sensitive a person as myself. He was well prepared to use our apartment for some days, needing nothing extra from us, no guidance – completely independent. He left the space absolutely spotless – right down to drinking glasses without even a fingerprint, and the stone counters so clean that they reflected light as clearly as unblemished mirrors: I was hesitant even to run a perfunctory sponge across them for fear that I might disturb them from their state of perfection. Thank you, Nathan, for taking such good care of the space, and of us as well. Welcome back anytime it might suit you to join us.
Nathan was a great guest! He was clean and respectful of the flat, I would gladly have him back anytime!
Nathan booked our apartment as part of a promotion he was running for his business (winners got a weekend in NY). I was wary at first, but it turned out there was no reason to be. His contest winners stayed in our apartment and left it very clean for us on their departure. I'd be happy to rent our apartment to Nathan again, whether for his own use or for that of his business.
Nathan was fantastic, great communication and incredibly clean! Highly recommend~
Everything with Nathan was ok, he is so quiet, clean, and friendly
Nathan is a very kind and clean person. I felt very comfortable to leave him at my home. He took great care and left everything perfectly behind. He is more then welcome to stay another time and I would definitely recommend him as a guest.
I thank Nathan for his visit. I think he apreciated the apartment, he made me in perfect condition. I hope my pleasure to welcome him back during his next visit to Paris.
Nathan is a great guest! He was easy to talk to. As a professional photographer, he convinced me to get my 5yo son into modeling, if I find time to get to it :) He left the place spotless. He is welcome back any time!
I've known Nathan a long time, both as a friend and a colleague in the arts. His aunt is a wonderful, lifelong friend of mine! He's a delightful young man and I'm happy and pleased to recommend him!
I've known Nathan since 1999/2000 and can definitely vouch for him! He is a wonderful, open-minded and warm soul who is extremely respectful of others. He continually seeks the middle road. Very easy going and easy to get along with. We have danced to soul music many times and he was one of my modeling agents; he made everything about the modeling industry seem smooth and easy.
I have known Nathan for 10+ years and can say this man oozes kindness, humility, and creativity. He makes sure that both his surroundings and the people he hangs out with reflect his personality. He is very well travelled and understands what other travellers are looking for in a spot to stay. I highly recommend staying with him- my only complaint is that I do not get to be around his positive energy more often!
Nathan and I have been friends for about 4 years and I must say he is an amazing host! Not only is he smart, interesting and responsible, he is also ambitious and uplifting. Nathan is a talented photographer, writer and a world traveler who shines a light of optimism and peacefulness on whomever is lucky enough to cross paths with him. Nathan takes airbnb very seriously and does everything within his power to make sure his guests have a very comfortable and pleasant stay in one of Brooklyn's most historic neighborhoods. He is a man of his word, so when he says he will do something, it is as good as done. I thank him very much for telling me about the site a little more than a year ago and I wish him tons of success. I am absolutely sure you will love his apartment, so what are you waiting for?
I have know Nathan for a long time, and he is a very talented individual. He is organized and a very dependable friend. I would let him stay at my place anytime.
