I am currently finishing up my Masters degree in Food Studies at Indiana University, where I have been focused on food waste, environmental change and industrial ecology. Food has always been my interest - and I have worked in several different capacities within food - as a forager, restaurant manager, private chef and in production for a well-regarded chocolatier. Before I continue on with my PhD work, I am taking a brief hiatus to assist Doug in his cereal company, Vigilant Eats.
Doug has been working on establishing his gluten-free, organic, non-GMO cereal company, Vigilant Eats, for the past three years. Prior to this business, Doug lived in New York, where he worked on buying and rehabbing homes, painting and his passion for music. He is quite a character and sometimes you can catch his quirky Long Island accent as he asks for more "coffee".
We are both home owners, and appreciate the trust it takes to welcome others into your home. We enjoy people and have met some great people all over the country by opting out of traditional hotel arrangements.
