I am an art educator. I taught art in public schools for my teaching career. I now run my own business (Artonomyart) teaching art camps to kids and classes to adults. Presently I am attempting to branch out and bring my services to the elderly, especially those with dementia. I am also working on carving out more time to make my own art.
I am family oriented. I have three grown children who raised hell growing up but are now amazing adults. I am blessed with two grandchildren who keep me present and help me see the world with fresh eyes. I was raised in a large family of ten which taught me to eat fast and share. I own my home and live with two renters who share my common space. I enjoy good conversation but evenings are generally quiet- finishing up emails and then reading before bed. I don't have cable, so renting or netflix are my occasional home movie sources.

I am healthy by choice. I love good food, I work out routinely, eat plenty of chocolate and enjoy indulging in an occasional glass of wine. I like my morning coffee and I generally cook breakfast and pack a lunch. I just find it keeps things simpler. Dinner finds its way on its own.
I am spiritual. I recognize how life events are connected and how my growth comes from keeping my heart open. I grow a seasonal veggie garden that is sometimes challenging due to the mountain terrain and altitude but savor the abundance of fresh peas, carrots, swiss chard and salad greens.
My last read was "Boys in the Boat" about the 1936 olympic rowing competition. I generally migrate to memoirs. Movies are generally determined by those encouraging me to venture out. I enjoy documentaries, but love a good comedy or even fantasy such as Maleficent.
I dont have a life motto as it would be ever changing but the last one that caught my eye was, "Stay humble, Stay Hungry, Stay foolish."
Hope this gives you an insight as to who I am.
