Great meals make great friends. The world would be a better place if everyone travelled more...and lived for awhile in another's shoes.

I just spent 7 weeks at Liz's sweet Echo Park pad. Nothing better for a New Yorker than multiple outdoor patios and ability to throw the front door open to warm breezes and a fantastic view of downtown. Any time I needed something Liz was more than happy to help. Her wonderfully welcoming spirit pervades the entire house. The house and neighborhood were very peaceful at night. Located in perfect mix of nature and cool nightlife. If you're looking for a home base with access to the best of Los Angeles this is the place.
I really enjoyed my month long stay here. Liz is a very thoughtful, flexible and responsive host. The property is amazing and Liz has decorated the home beautifully. I really appreciated the fact that she's considered everything one would need for a comfortable stay - I showed up with a bag and didn't need much else.
The large windows offer incredible views of downtown and the rest of the city, but do create a bit of a fishbowl effect that can take some getting used to. Make sure to take advantage of the lovely terraces that frame the property - perfect for taking in the sunset with a glass of wine. It's also important to note that although this apartment has all of the elements of a complete home (including a fireplace!), it is truly the downstairs of a larger home and is connected by a stairwell without a door, which means you can hear everything going on upstairs, and I'm sure Liz can hear everything going on downstairs as well. This doesn't present much of a problem, but can be surprising the first time an exuberant guest comes by, prompting a mental review of everything you've said or done that you suddenly realize was probably overheard.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this apartment. The location is minutes away from downtown and accessible to the rest of the city through major freeways, the space is gorgeous, the views divine, and the host a gem. I enjoyed it so much I'm now looking for property in the area.
This fabulous apartment was my home for two months of the summer and it was the perfect introduction to LA for me. I felt at home thanks to Liz's amazing hospitality. The apartment was comfortable and home-y and had a tremendous view of downtown LA. The neighborhood is super cool - with lots of delicious restaurants and destinations in walking distance. For someone transitioning to a new city, this was the perfect spot. Liz was the best host ever and was so accommodating and friendly. Bullitt and I became fast buddies as well! The parking is never a problem and I felt very safe. The breeze is heavenly through with the windows open so my summer was delightful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I already miss it. Great for long stays!
This is a beautiful space. If you're looking for something in the Echo Park/Silver Lake area, this is it: tastefully decorated, gorgeous furniture and spectacular views of the area.
The apartment was everything I expected from the listing and more. It was a wonderfully comfortable, attractive, and convenient place to stay while visiting a family member a few blocks away in the Echo Park neighborhood. Everything was in readiness when I arrived. The setting, with a great view of downtown LA and attractive patios just outside the kitchen door, added to the charm and comfort. The bed was especially comfortable. Because of medical issues, I had to arrive a couple of days late and leave a day early, leaving a period when my host, Liz, had to be out of town, so, regrettably, I never got to meet her. However, she was very cooperative and diligent in responding to communications when we arranged the rental and during my stay when I had to make changes in my plans. I recommend this apartment to anyone who would not have a problem with the many steps up from the street, which should be manageable for most people who do not have limited mobility.
Love the neighborhood and this is definitely the spot for amazing views of Downtown! The space is beautifully situated and Liz is very responsive but it's definitely not the most sound proof apartment-there's no door between the apartments, just a stairwell so you can hear everything anyone upstairs is doing (and presumably they can hear everything you're doing) and as much as I love the dog he does have a tendency to bark when he's home alone. Parking is tough late night on street cleaning days but ample all other times. Wonderful location to explore Echo Park and sit with a glass of wine and enjoy the view!
My boyfriend and I fell in love with Liz's place, has to be the prettiest Airbnb sublet out there. Beautiful view, garden nooks to dine it, fabulous decor and located in the best neighbourhood in the city! Liz and her dog, Bullet, are also very accommodating. Thanks so much, Liz!
Liz was a great host and the apartment was perfect. Really good location, a walk away to a couple of great bars and restaurants. The view every morning from the front was phenomenal and Echo Park (5 min walk) was beautiful. Liz was the perfect host, helping us out with suggestions when we needed them, totally laid back and very easy to deal with, I would come back in a second!
There can't be a better place in LA! The view of downtown was stunning. The house is a gorgeous Spanish Revival that perched on a hill; it screams "Old Hollywood." Liz lives upstairs, and it first it seems like you're going to be sharing a lot of common area, but that's not the case. The rental floor has all of it's own conveniences (kitchen, living room, full bath, entrance, etc.), so you have a lot of privacy.
Liz is fantastic, too. She's really charming and engaging but not intrusive. She seems to keep really busy with her job, but she took the time to have a few drinks with me and made sure I was happy in the space. We had a lot of fun. She also has great taste, so the decor is not standard Ikea-issue rental room garbage. The ambiance of the space is intimate and personal. It feels like you're staying in someone's very cool home.
Since there's no driveway, Liz warned me that there was only street parking, but I never had any trouble finding a spot. You also walk up the equivalent of about 2 flights of stairs to get to the house from the street. It's not a big deal at all, but if you have a serious mobility problem, you may want to look for something else.
I plan to try to book this space every time I return to LA. So much about it simply can't be beat!
Amazing Host and friendly Dog.
Great house, breathtaking views.
All was just a luxurious experience
Fire place, Grill, just can not get any better
Love to come back to stay with Liz and drink beer and eat grilled lamb.
