We stayed 4 days in Gisli's apartment and had a very pleasant stay. The apartment is nice, clean and comfortable, and Gisli was helpful and easy to reach. Highly recommended.
We loved Gisli's apartment -- perfect location, great parking, very spacious and comfortable for myself and my two teenage kids. Gisli came right over to fix the washing machine when it broke, and even hung up the wet clothes! We really appreciated the hospitality.
We stayed 3 nights at Gisli’s apartment and had a wonderful time!
Accurate description of a lovely apartment. The place is clean, cosy, and very comfortable. It’s perfectly situated. We had a rental car and never had a problem finding free parking on the street out front.
Gisli was easy to get in contact with and provided us with all the information we needed. The flat was everything and more than we expected.
Exactly what we were looking for and we'd definitely stay again.
thanks once again Gisli!
Gisli was great and very helpful. There were a few issues that were addressed as soon as they were brought up. I stayed there with my father and he thought that the flat was too far to walk to the city centre but I would say its not too bad. It was clean and the kitchen was fully stocked with any kitchenware needed. It does sit on a main road but I couldn't hear a thing in the smaller bedroom at night.
Nice and central flat, right next to one of the main roads.
Bathroom could be cleaner. Huge array of coffeemakers!
We had a wonderful stay at Gisli's flat. We were there for a conference at the university, which was just steps away, but it was easy to get to the other major attractions and areas of Central Reykjavik. It was also a quick fifteen minute walk from the main bus terminal, where connecting shuttles to the airport drop off and pick up.
The flat itself was very comfortable and liveable. It's right on one of Reykjavik's largest streets, with a bus stop outside the living/dining room window, but it's not a distraction or a security risk. (There are, as far as I can tell, no security risks in Iceland!) On of our more delicate sleepers slept with eyemasks and earplugs, but the rest of us had no problems getting to and staying asleep unaided. The beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of storage space for clothes, etc. No complaints about the bathroom...
There's also, in the living room, an impressive collection of books in several languages, as well as a remarkable array of coffee-making devices. (Gisli, like many Icelanders, takes his coffee very seriously.) The dining table, couch, and chairs are all very comfortable.
Getting into the flat was easy, and leaving was no problem at all. (There was no one coming in after us, so Gisli offered to let us stay as long as we liked, but sadly we had an early flight.)
The flat is really well located. It is exactly as described by the host and by the photos. We spent around a week there and it was excellent for 2 couples.
All went smoothly with Gisli's place. Was nice and central and easy parking for our hire car. It is right next to a main road so there was a bit of car noise, but not too bad.
Nice guest! Clean and tidy- always welcome. Thanks Gisli
Thank You Gilsi. A single day is short :)
