It is simply not possible to get another landlady as good as Darka. Her house is simple but very nice. The house is clean and tidy and I felt very comfortable staying in. The location is zone 3 of London but you can get to the city center within 30mins easily. And the whole experience was just great as Darka treated me so so well as if I am her family. I felt so warm and taken care of all of time. Being a foreigner living in London is very stressful sometimes but living in this house can make me stay calm and relaxed. I can't say enough good things about this airbnb experience and I was just too lucky to have spent my time in London with Darka in her lovely place.
Darka and her family are lovely, friendly people. They were kind and welcoming yet also unobtrusive. Darka shared her knowledge of the local area with me, providing me with tips on what to do, how to get about and where to eat. The room is as described in the advertisement and guests have access to the communal areas of the house: kitchen, living room, bathrooms. For me, the house felt like a home away from home and I very much enjoyed my stay.
Darka is a very understanding and kind, gentle, caring and interesting person. She warmly welcomed us. she talk about her, his housemates, his family, his culture. she saw us with our planning of the week to do something more logical. She gave us our astral themes. She loves it. For Passover she shared with us the famous Ukrainian eggs and bread blessed .
just noticed that you will not share the house with darka. Only with the housemates. You are many housemates in the same house from all countries and speaking all languages. The housemates are nice but not very talkative. darka lives in the house next door.
only Problem : hygiene and old kitchen utensils. the household is not done and vacuum and brushes are in the room of the main housemates, ask them if you need. we asked at the end of the week but we have not the time to clean the house with vacuum and brushes, we were very tired of our visit in london. Anyway nobody did the household. And It lacks a lot of cookware. and the Microwave is break, it idles. Pans are old. We used pots housemates that they bought themselves. Another problem: a mouse nibbled a packet of cake. I ask darka she told me that the whole neighborhood was like that and we could not do anything. This is a very old neighborhood with galleries mouse from house to house surely impossible to kill.
It's just a place to sleep and not to cook. do not expect a hotel. it's just a home.
the advantages are that it is cheap and you are very closed to London. The quickest way to get to the heart of London is to take the National Rail at manor park station and not the overground to Woodgrange Park. This is fast enough especially because you join the Central Line.
Darka is a lovely host! She is very thoughtful and helps a lot! Nick, Dora and Joe, the people who are living in the house, are wonderful. They make you feel like home.
The house is located in a quiet place and the connection to the cenral London is great. You can even take a bus from a bus stop just 5 mins walk from the house to get to the Central London. The room is small, but warm and (website hidden) make sure that it's clean you need to clean it yourself as there is no housemaid in the house, the same for the rest of the house. The Internet connection may get worse during the evenings and weekend and it's hard to get it in the room. However, you can find better connection in the common living and dining rooms. Overall, I really enjoyed the stay in the house. Big thanks to Darka, Dora, Nick and Joe!
I was so lucky to be based at Darka's house for my first airbnb experience. The house and everyone I met is so welcoming, with the room just as described - small and cosy. Darka is a lovely hostess - and everyone went the extra mile to make me feel welcome. I would love to return!
A tiny little room, well-kept, comfortable and clean with a nicely furnished and clean bathroom just a few steps from the door.
This does sound unremarkable and it is, it's just a basic and good place to put your head down.
However, this review is not just about the property, it's about the hospitality.
Darka was a wonderful hostess, friendly, welcoming and facinating to chat to because she is well-versed in so many subjects. In just one night there I completely felt at ease and at home.
If you are thinking of going to stay here for just one night you will regret having to leave the next day as this is not just a house, it's a warm, cozy home.
Darka's house was full of warm and lovely people. It was wonderful to visit such a haven of kindness and to feel so welcome in a temporary home. I hope to visit Darka, George, Dora and Nick again during my next visit to London!!!
Darka is a treat. Her sister is a treat.
They are welcoming and warm and funny
Very close to train and bus and tons of shopping
If one is there long enough to cook the kitchen is wonderful
Soon it will be warm enough to sit in the back garden for tea
I will always have Darka at the top of my best hostess scale
10 out of 10
Response from Darka:
As soon as I arrived (my first stay in London) Darka was really kind to give me some advices about markets, buses and every other thing in the nearby.
I used to take the bus in the night as in the day, as I'm a musician, and the neighborhood was alike really safe. Accomodation was really comfortable, the house big as you can see in the pictures and the other roomates really friendly!!! Plus I was encouraged to speak only in English because in the house there were roommates from all over the world, and Darka too used sometimes to come in and talk with us!!! Thank you Darka!!!
The house is peaceful and the other housemates are all really nice. It's a place where you can feel very comfortable and Darka and her family next door are only too happy to help! Would definitely recommend!
