I'm a building contractor in Marin County, I love to surf and swim, I have a 12 year old daughter who loves to go up to the cabin in Summerhome Park and swim.

Definitely an interesting place to stay. We loved sleeping out on the deck at night under the redwoods and the access to the private beach was perfect for launching our tubing trip. I would recommend a small car as parking is a bit tough in that area, and be sure to get detailed directions from Nick as this place doesn't show up on (website hidden) maps.
I rented out the cabin for my friend's birthday. There were four others and I. We all had an amazing experience visiting Hearts Content. Being from the city of San Rafael and coming to this peaceful cabin gave us a sense of gradtitude for the beauty that surrounds Northern California. The cabin has a rustic/European kinda feel to it. You walk up the third flight of steps and you cant help but admire the craftsmanship that went into the beautiful deck. Walking through the door you see a gorgeous metal lighting piece, carefully placed in the living area. The kitchen has one of my favorite pieces in the whole cabin, a beautiful vintage style lantern, lluminating the kitchen beautifully. the outside shower was another fun part of the whole experience; It gave off a sense of being in a waterfall. all the windows trim have a bright aqua/seafoam pop of color to it, which i thought were beautiful accents on the house. i thank Nick for allowing us to experience this fun filled wekeend. I do hope to go and visit again!
Cabin was rustic, fireplace was great and logs provided. Kitchen was robust and outside of the cabin was super charming. Directions well provided, although a bit treacherous to get to - don't bring a big truck or long car.
Things to note: the shower is outside of the house and unusable, really. There's a curtain leading to the outside instead of a door, old showerhead means you better not be taller than 6' and not mind being outside to shower facing the other houses. The boards you stand on are all loose and it drains to the hillside. We didn't feel comfortable using it and was a disappointment.
Just know what you're getting: a one bedroom wood cabin with a door that doesn't lock when you're not there, another room separated from the living room with a curtain, no tub and an unsanitary outdoor shower that is usable.
It was swept clean otherwise so if you can rough it, good luck.
I called Nick and he replied the next day but was nice in his message.
