I am a water engineer from Chile, currently in Australia completing a PhD in hydrogeology. I moved to Sydney in 2011 to undertake a Masters degree in water resources. I have strong sense of social duty and a desire to apply my work to support real changes in water resources to benefit society and the environment. Therefore, my research pursues improving quality of life as well as interdisciplinary investigations on problems of social importance. I aim to become an academic very soon and hopefully be a positive influence to younger people. My goal is to develop better ways of managing water and improve safe access to it in developing countries.
I love the ocean and have been practicing bodyboarding for over 20 years. This has made me travel all around the world to many countries in search of waves. Traveling has been a huge part of my life and has helped me to pursue a happy and healthy outlook on life. Whenever I'm not studying or chasing waves, you will find me at the yoga studio.
