Staying at the Little New Orleans Carriage House was an absolute delight! From the arrival to the departure, I was absolutely in love!
The property is exactly like the pictures, and is actually bigger that they make it look. Definitely only appropriate for one person though.
The bed is small, not great for tall people, but very comfortable and you feel like you're in your own private world with those cute (website hidden) is in your nook as well which is very nice to curl up amongst all the very soft, lovely pillows and watch a late night movie.
The design of the apartment is adorable. Absolutely unique in every way, and there are indeed hidden gems that if you explore enough you will find!
The location is great, it's in a quiet, residential neighborhood, and the house is up a small alley with only a few other places around it. Very quiet, and a lovely street all lit up with fairy lights.
I met a few of the other neighbors by chance, and they were all so lovely!
The location is only a few minutes from the heart of Hollywood, yet secluded enough that you aren't driven crazy by all the people.
The only issue is parking, which really wasn't that bad at all for me. I had stayed in 2 other places in LA previously, and parking was a NIGHTMARE, so if I only had to look for a park for 5 minutes, and at the most park 1 street away, I am more than happy.
That being said, the apartment is up a steep hill, which you wouldn't want to be carrying suitcases/too much stuff up and down.
Chuck was kind enough to let me unload my luggage nearer to the apartment, which was very helpful!
All in all, it was a truly great stay, and I was very sad to leave!!
Will definitely recommend this place to all my friends, and be back on my next trip to LA!
I had a very pleasant experience staying in the carriage house. It was clean, comfortable, and in a perfect location.
Such a charming and cozy place! Thanks Chuck!
My stay was lovely and peaceful!
Cute cottage on beautiful street. A little hard to get to if you have baggage, since you have to park a couple blocks away and walk up a steep hill, but worth the trip. Had some issues during my stay (probably just a fluke) - problems with WiFi and power outage, etc. But host was responsive and worked to resolve issues with me.
Great spot! Easy and convenient to get to and from Hollywood! Never met Chuck but he was very nice on the phone and made me feel right at home! Strongly recommend!
I had a lovely experience thanks to Chuck at the carriage house. It was in a wonderful location just below the Hollywood sign and the area where the home is felt like a small street you might find in an Italian village. Coffee was and fruit was provided which was a great perk to my mornings. My only downside is that all the events I was attending was in another part of town so the cabs got a little pricey, but would love to come back and stay again. Thank you, Chuck!
I spent a delightful week in this peaceful and charming cottage. The pictures and description are very accurate. I felt very comfortable and relaxed here. After a day of exploring and sightseeing in fast-paced LA, I loved to return to the cottage to rest while enjoying the view through the floor to ceiling French doors to the green trees and plants and the quiet little street. I have adopted the Beachwood Drive area as "my" neighborhood in LA. I enjoyed many walks through the winding streets and hills of the neighborhood to admire the variety of architectural styles of the homes and their gardens. Cell reception in the canyon is spotty but directions for connecting to Wi-Fi were left in the cottage. Chuck was very helpful, patient and quick to respond to my questions. I enjoyed the chilled bottled water and champagne I found in the refrigerator and yummy chocolates and fruit left for me. I would most definitely stay here again. I highly recommend the Little New Orleans Carriage House!
Chuck's amazing little cottage was the perfect place to stay while in LA for a few days - I honestly couldn't imagine a more relaxing and lovely little sanctuary! It also happens to be located right near one of the best spots to view the Hollywood sign, as well as close to a lovely cafe called the Beachwood. I recommend Chuck's place highly to anyone visiting LA!
We rented the cottage for my mother-in-law and here is what she had to say:
"This is a gem. The photos are good, but don't show everything that you are getting here. At the front of the little house there's a tiny garden in pots, with fairy lights and a midget lamp-post lit up at night. There's a curtained, and very comfortable, bed, with a light switch revealing a lit up area of plants outside should you need light in the dark, all completely private. Toiletries are provided in case you arrive without any, fluffy towels as standard, plus fresh flowers, chocolates, and chilled sparkling wine in the 'fridge. If there were anything else you needed, I couldn't imagine what it might be! I had a brilliant time."
We enjoyed hosting Chuck in our NYC studio. He is extremely polite, thoughtful, and all-around nice guy. He booked the apartment well in advance and kept in touch periodically about his upcoming visit. He was good enough to let us know when he arrived at the airport and then, when he was within a few minutes of the door. He left the apartment as clean and neat as when he arrived. He even volunteered to start the laundry on his way out - that was beyond thoughtful. I highly recommend Chuck as a wonderful guest to any airbnb host and he is welcome to return to us anytime.
