Our family stayed 2days. We enjoyed beatiful sunrise on horizen
and several kilometers 'private' beach - how silent it is!!!-
convient for access to polynesian center, Kualoa Ranch and
Foodland, Longs drugs, shrimp trucks........
My kids say that they will remember the best time during our tour in Hawaii in Roland's
We had an amazing time!! The accommodations were more than enough for our six day trip!! Having the beach at your back door with the crash of the waves is extremely relaxing and invigorating and we couldn't have asked for a better value.
My husband and I had a very nice time. The condo was right on the beach and we slept on the murphy bed to hear the sounds of the waves. It was very quiet.
Roland's condo was absolutely fantastic. The condo itself was clean, well-kept, and had more than enough space for my girlfriend and I. The best thing about the condo was the million-dollar view, with the open screen doors and balcony stopping us in our tracks every time we looked outside. Sunrises were a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and having private beach access was a major plus. Staying in Punalu'u was an excellent idea, as there are tons of local culture without a ton of other tourists and traffic. We had a great time walking to the local Thai and Shrimp food trucks, and driving to the North Shore area and Waikiki area. The location on the island is perfect, as you're not more than an hour's drive from anything. Roland's suggested activities were very helpful as well, we took in a recommended sunset dinner at Haleiwa Joe's that was breathtaking. Roland himself was an excellent host, easy to communicate with and seemed to genuinely care that his guests had a great time. We would absolutely stay here again.
Let me start by saying the owner was very responsive throughout the pre-book process, answered all my questions and quickly made me feel comfortable. The condo was as expected. The location is just right for those looking to get away from the city life. This place is soo family friendly with a low-key private beach in peaceful neighborhood. If my kids could write, both would say, they loved it!. The view is amazing, I could not get over waking up to that beautiful sunrise. Sleeping in the pull-out bed was easy to extend and best way to enjoy a restful night to the sound of the ocean. No matter how tight we closed the window, room was always a bit noisy with a steady flow of car traffic (luckily kids where so beat, they slept right through it). Kitchen amenities were more than enough, water toys (board, snorkeling, etc) were a bit worn but worked. Overall, we loved this place and highly recommend to anyone considering.
I had a great time in this condo. First the amenities were all clean and more than enough; Second, the beds, both in the room and outside in the livingroom, were very comfortable and clean; Third, the view was fantastic.
It was 50 minutes away from the downtown, but the driving, along the coast, was pleasant.
After the trip, I exchanged a few emails with the owner. The conversation was smooth. Although I haven’t met him, I got impression that he was very responsible and nice.
Hawaii Condo on the Beach, a wonderful location on the windward side of Oahu; the sunrise each morning was spectacular and as a bonus treat we saw the USS Carl Vincent heading to Pearl Harbor after a 9-month tour to the Persian Gulf.
The location of this property is outstanding as you are half between Honolulu and the North Shore and you are away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki
Great communication with our host Roland and we thank him for a lovely place to wind down as we had just finished a two week trip to Beijing, China and Osaka, Japan

Had an incredible time at Roland's place in Oahu. It really was the perfect place for us being outside of Honolulu in the tropical country. We enjoyed being away from the traffic and business of Waikiki. Throw in free parking, free internet, washer and dryer, kitchen, snorkeling gear, beach towels, a beach right out front and what more can you ask for. As many reviewers mentioned, use the Murphy bed and sleep to the sounds of waves outside your window. Eat at the Shrimp Shack and nearby Thai truck - Excellent food. The waterfalls at Waimea Falls was awesome - You can swim in the waters. There is a charge to get in but beautiful.
Punalu'u is the remotest part of the island of Oahu, so if you're looking to get away from it all then this is a great place for you. This is a small well-appointed one bedroom apartment right on the beach front at Punalu'u with a little balcony to relax on and enjoy the view, and just a few steps to the beach for swimming and snorkelling. The apartment is nicely furnished and decorated. There is also a pull down double bed in the lounge, which we would recommend sleeping there as you go to sleep listening to the waves, and the bedroom is a bit noisy from road traffic. We appreciated the supply of beach towels. There is also a great book on Oahu sites in the bookshelf which we found very helpful. Fast wifi is also available. A reasonably priced stay in a lovely location.
We loved this area of Oahu and all the natural beauty of the north shore. My husband and I stayed for 4 nights in April, when the weather was superb and we swam each day at a different beach. We had wonderful thai food from the van/restaurant across the road, and also tried the local shrimp van. The condo was clean and perfect for 2 adults, although we preferred to sleep on the foldout bed and listen to the ocean rather than the traffic on the highway.
Roland was a wonderful communicator and directions were easy to follow and checkin was seamless. This was a great place to unwind and begin our hawaiian adventure. Mahalo Roland
Roland was an awesome
Fun guest and we really hope to see him again when he is back in Hawaii! We had fun hitting Waikiki with him and introducing him to some of our friends. Hope to see you soon!
Roland is a fantastic guest - clean, friendly, and well traveled. Also a very funny man! He is a great communicator and made sure I was always well informed of his plans. I would be glad to host him again any time!
Roland was a lovely guest, friendly, clean, quite & fun. Got to talk story and hang out a bit. I would host him again anytime & surely hang out next time he's in town. Another wonderful Airbnb guest I can call a friend. Hope to see & host him again.
I met Roland 5 years ago and we have been friends ever since. He has an eye for detail and a streak of spontaneity. Roland has earned my trust and if he was renting a place I would definitely stay there. Oh wait... he has a place- right here on Airbnb!
If you are renting from him, or to him, I guarantee you will pickup some positive vibrations.
Roland is a great dude. He was my personal trainer for a while, until I started getting lazy =) I haven't stayed at his place in Hawaii yet, but I hear great things about it!
Hi, Roland. We truly enjoyed staying at your condo on Oahu. The place was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. The surroundings are just gorgeous! Loved being between the ocean and the mountains. The beach was fantastic. We saw fish, crabs, and even a sea turtle! We enjoyed a lot of activities in the area. We went horseback riding at beautiful Kualoa Ranch, Robert and I played 9 holes at the nearby golf course, and really enjoyed the snorkeling and Shark's Cove. We appreciated all of the information you sent to help us enjoy our vacation to the fullest. The hikes in the area were breathtaking especially Maunawili. We certainly weren't going to go hungry with your recommendations to check out the shrimp trunk across the street and that cute little Thai place in Laie. Thanks again for everything, and we hope to be able to visit again soon! A hui hou kakou. ~Robin
Aloha, Roland! This condo was perfect for my birthday trip over President's Day weekend! We were four ladies and the condo had enough space for us to sleep & we enjoyed waking up to the view of the ocean, beach, and palm trees from inside and on the lanai. The condo was far enough from the concrete jungle and massive tourists in Waikiki, but close enough to North Shore, Sunset Beach, horseback riding at Happy Trails, hiking to the waterfalls, and lovely Waimea Bay...we really felt relaxed and were able to feel what the island of Oahu and the Hawaiian Spirit had to offer!! We would definitely stay with you again, Roland!! Mahalo for all of your help in planning our trip!!

We got acquainted with Roland back in 2009 when my wife and her girlfriends wanted to take a trip out to Hawaii. They wanted a place right on the beach and away from the hustle and bustle of downtown where they could do a lot of outdoor activities. One of the things that impressed us about them was how helpful they were with suggesting places to visit and activities in the area. They even recommended a car rental place that had the best prices. We exchanged about 10 emails, and they promptly answered all of our questions. We felt like they really cared that we would have a good time. I didn't have a chance to make it out, but we're planning a trip together as I write this!
