I was in NYC for a business trip with two coworkers and it was a great time! Dean and Tonya were very responsive and communicated with me anytime I had a specific question or request. Dean was nice enough to drop off the keys at a venue my coworkers and I were working at. Everything was clean and it looked exactly how it does in the photos their featuring on AirBnB. The area is in the best part of Chelsea and is honestly near everything (restaurants, shops, convenient stores, the metro/subway) I would say it's perfect more for 2 people than 3 (or for 3 really good friends vs. 3 coworkers)- but if you're not the fussy type there's an air mattress available where the 3rd person could place in the living room. Everything worked out perfect! Thanks Dean and Tonya!
Tonya was a great host and made us feel most welcome. The apartment is exactly as described and was such a great place to stay while being in New York. I love the neighborhood. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone.
We had a great experience staying here. The place was clean and the location is amaizing. I can't wait to come back.
We had a great welcome by Tonya that wait for us as we were late for the snow.
She gave us a lot of indications and she was very kind with us as the last day she keep our baggages in the apartment till 6 pm.
Thank you so much Tonya!!!
The apartment is well located very near to Chelsea Market, Greenwich Village and to the underground. We recommend it.
Super experience. I originally inquired about this apartment, but learned it was unavailable, and had been listed by mistake.
Tonya graciously offered to upgrade us to her "Grande Super Large Apt" in the same building, for the price of this one, and we accepted.
The apartment we actually stayed in was the mirror image of the one advertised, with a king bed downstairs, and a queen in the low-ceilinged loft. It was more newly renovated than that shown in the pics, and looks as though it's being done up in stages.
The main room is approx 16'x10', a pretty decent size for this type of building, and has plenty of extra storage space in the hallway, which makes it easy for even a family of 5, like mine, to store their gear.
We all loved the place, which is perfect for families in a number of respects. It's convenient for plenty of subway lines, a few buses, and to Penn Station too, which is handy if you're flying into EWR.
The Flatiron District is a safe, professional area--I used to work just blocks away. And the apartment's proximity to Madison Square Park, Apple Seeds indoor playground (which offers drop-in play for $40 per family/day), and Chelsea Piers make it a great pick for those with kids. Moreover, there are great grocery stores, nearby, like Garden of Eden & Whole Foods, if you plan to make use of the apartment's kitchen, in addition to super restaurants for every price range. (For travellers on a budget, 2 Brothers Pizza even has dollar slices!)
If you do plan to cook, be aware that whereas the kitchen has ample flatware and glassware, it lacks a few basics like a cutting board (though it has a chef's knife), spatula, serving spoon, and a colander. It's probably best to ask Tonya herself, if there's something specific you want.
Text her any time--she's easy to get. She answered our messages within a few minutes. She is warm, and helpful in person, too, as is the super Super, Winston.
Winston was flexible when we turned up 20 minutes late to check in. He keeps a close eye on the front door, and he was always kind enough to buzz us in when we were fishing for our keys, while struggling with our 3 little ones. Thanks, Winston.
Communal areas in this building are battle-worn, but cleaned regularly, even if only given a lick and a promise. The apartments are cleaner. The building has an elevator, which makes travelling with little ones and lots of luggage that much easier.
Best of all, Tonya's apartments are sure to please your kiddos. Our little ones loved the loft, of course, but also the decor--including colorful vintage travel posters featuring elephants and hot air balloons, a real guitar and conga drum, a touch lamp, and books and fun little chotchkies. Our kids were so enchanted by Tonya's snow globe, we bought one of the same as our NYC souvenir.
Tanya's place was great! She met us to give us the keys and gave us lots of suggestions about the neighborhood. She's a great host! Her place was perfect. Just like the pictures. Clean and close to trains and lots of good food. I would definitely stay here again!
The apartment was perfect for the 5 of us who wanted to experience NYC for the first time on a student budget. It was in a great location (Flatiron District) with a 3 minute walk to the nearest subway, and easy to return to from most subways across Manhattan. We made use of the kitchen by cooking regularly, though this is not essential as the apartment is in an area where there are plenty of restaurants and cafes. Also the beds are so comfy! The wifi didn't work at first but Tonya solved this for us within 24 hours. Overall, a great place to stay, thank you.
Tonya was great to work with and available when needed. The apt was as listed small like most NY apt but fit our needs. I would rent from her again in a minute, plus the location is great close by everything.
We arrived into NY late and Tonya made it easy for us to pick up the key from her apartment only a few blocks away. On arrival our apartment was warm and clean with plenty of towels and sheets to use throughout our 3 week stay. The kitchen is small as others suggest however it has everything you need and to be honest, don't waste your time cooking when there are so many amazing restaurants surrounding you! The location is perfect bordering on Chelsea, Greenwich Village & Meatpacking district with easy access to a pharmacy, groceries and most importantly Chelsea and Gansevoort Markets! If you like a good latte make sure you head to ninth st espresso. The apartment is close to many subway lines which makes it easy to get around to see all of the attractions but just getting lost around the area on foot is the perfect way to experience the culture of the borough. Tonya was always prompt in responding to any questions both before our arrival and during our stay. All in all it was the perfect base for us to explore what is the magical NYC. Thank you Tonya for your hospitality, hopefully we get to return sometime soon!
Thank you so much Kylie for such a stellar and thorough review! I aim to please :)
Perfectly situated right in the heart of it all, near many subways, shops and restaurants. Complete value for the money and there are no security or cleaning deposits! It is comfortable, quiet and furnished with ample closet and drawer space as well as fully functioning amenities. An enjoyable stay.Highly recommended!
This apartment is great and so centrally located! Shes close to everything and she nice :) I would definitely recommend this place if you want a nice calm clean apt to stay as our home away from home.
