Osa Corcovado Tour and Travel is a full-service travel agency that specializes in the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica.
The place is great, the rustic house is large, well equiped and has all the basics you will need. The lack of hot water is really not an issue, given the warm /hot climate. Access is very easy and reasonable distance from Puerto Jimenez. The "beach" is steps away from the house, but it is more of a pebbles and mangroves beach, than a sand beach. Lovely place to stay for a few days, especially now that a swimming pool has been added! A bonus for the kids
The listing was much better than expected. We were welcomed by the caretaker, we couldn't speak each others language but we got by. The are is very peaceful and quiet.
Agent at Osa Corcovado was to have arraigned transportation from airport at Pto. Jimenez to home, this was not done and we were left to our own devices. Contact with agent was hit or miss. Caretaker at the house was very helpful and there to greet us.
We had a wonderful time in La Cuna. It really is a little bit of paradise. It's everything described in the listing and more. This is the Costa Rica I've been dreaming of (and have failed to find in 18 months living in the country). The surroundings are amazing and the cabin itself is simple but has been beautifully and tastefully designed and equipped by the owner and his German wife. It's about 15 minutes from the town by car on a good road. Your own transport would be very useful. Otherwise you'd just have to stock up on food and enjoy swimming in a warm, calm sea, kayaking, fishing, hanging out in the plunge pool, lazing in a hammock, barbecuing, sunbathing on the beach, watching the wild life, soaking in the beauty of the place .... . The owner's brother lives in a nearby cabin. He has his own transport and is very helpful. There are many different trips and days out you can arrange while you are in the area. However there is frankly so much wildlife in the immediate area and so much to enjoy that supplementary activities are wonderful but not essential.
This is an amazing place and the cabin offers great value.
Garden Hacienda was an absolutely beautiful and amazing place to stay in the Osa Peninsula. It's very secluded and over looks farms and trees. If you are a bird lover or watcher this is definitely the place for you. There were tons of beautiful birds and we even saw 2 Scarlet Macaws while sitting on the gorgeous porch. The house was clean and Nelson, the caretaker was very nice and courteous. I totally recommend staying here.
The place was difficult to find because the town has no addresses. So, I recommend to get GPS coordinates. PJ is not a nice city to see, but if you are travelling from one location to another it is ok to crush there.
The studio has everything you need. It is neat, but not clean at all: strange smells, lots of dust.
No complaints about the host: good communication, tried to help us with advice...
