I love travel -- speak French, learning Portuguese. I'd much rather stay in a home than a hotel :)

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lauren's spacious studio apartment. We had the comforts of A/C, an elevator in the building, wifi, French press coffee maker, comfortable bed, and one block from the metro... to Manhattan in less than 30 min. Also, it's located in a tranquil and beautiful Brooklyn neighborhood, with markets, bars, and great restaurants less than 10 walking min. away.
Lauren's place was in a great location- clean, cute and the air conditioner worked beautifully!
We had a wonderful stay in New York. The Apartment is in a very calm and safe neighborhood. Would recommend.
Very cute and charming place. Although it is a studio, it feels much more spacious. I absolutely love the neighborhood and please check out the Brooklyn flea market if you have enough time since it is so close by. I love that the location is very very close to the subway station and the C line can take you to Manhattan in a matter of minutes. Lauren communicates very well and she is easy to get a hold of (even during Thanksgiving...). I have no complaints!
We enjoyed our stay at Laurens apartment very muchand would definitely come again. The location is good, in a nice neighbourhood where we felt very safe and just a 2-min-walk from the metro station. The doublebed and also the sofa were comfortable to sleep and there is also ac. We were there in hot august and it was absolutely ok. We didnt really cook but there was all the equipment you would need in the kitchen. Lauren also provided sheets and towels.
Great apartment in a fun neighborhood! Steps from public transportation, so easy to get to/from JFK airport as well as Manhattan. Our visit unfortunately coincided with a really hot weekend, but windows and fans made it bearable. Lauren was easy to contact and very friendly. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a fun Brooklyn experience!
As a travel nanny I rely on reviews to make decisions so I try to leave honest reviews. There were many Pros for this apartment but the Con is a big factor if you plan on visiting in the summer or hot season. I try to rate like I would a hotel. 5 stars is an outstanding place but a 3 star hotel is a great place to stay too!
Pros: GREAT Location! Three blocks from DeKalb street with great little places to eat (Mega Bites has great hamburgers!)
EASY to get get around on the C train which is literally a short block from apartment. Also on that corner is a deli grocery that has great egg and cheese sandwiches and decent coffee to eat on the way to Manhattan.
GOOD communication with Lauren. She makes it easy to get the keys and to leave the keys.
Decent size apartment for NY. Yes, it's an older building but it has an elevator.
CON: No air conditioning. This is a huge factor if renting in summer. Yes there are two decent fans aimed at the bed but some might hesitate to open the windows due to no screens. (to be honest this is normal for NYC and on 4th fl you really don't have a problem with bugs.) We opened all the windows except the one on the fire escape and we were only in apartment at night.
But we felt we had to close them when we were gone so when you come back it can be rather hot and stuffy. We were lucky as the heat wave had just ended and we had 80-63 degree weather with cooler nights. In high 80-95 degrees, the nights are still warm.
The bed is pretty decent. It is on a platform bed and for two good size people, it is not the most comfortable but for a single person it would be great. No real complaints as it was a real bed.
Would I stay here again: Most definitely due to the great location and decent size of apartment, elevator, price. Just not in the summer.
Lauren's studio is in a lovely, leafy part of Brooklyn.. It's super easy to get to from the airport & also really easy to get into Manhattan... Having said that, there are numerous coffee shops & restaurants in walking distance & being in Fort Greene is a welcome break from the city. The area is fantastic.
The studio is a really good size for two, & in a building that feels safe.
Lauren is a friendly host & easy to communicate with.. She left a handy list of recommendations for the neighbourhood & responded quickly to any queries & although we didn't get to meet in person, at no point did we feel neglected.
We had a great stay, thanks!
We loved this place. While we never met Lauren she did everything necessary to make our stay great. From the moment we walked in we felt at home. Lauren had her nice neighbor let us in. The apartment was larger than we pictured and was so clean. The decor was so warm even the smell was welcoming. The bathroom and kitchen were very adequate. The Neighborhood is very cool and it's only a 10 minute ride on the subway to Manhattan. LOVED IT!
Lauren was very nice and treated my house with care, she and her guests are welcome anytime at my home!
Lauren is a wonderful guest. She's a joy to host - warm, thoughtful and kind.
Very nice guests, very sweet and friendly. I love to see them again stayin in our homes. Highly recomended!
Una ragazza simpatica, molto ordinata e pulita, la riospiterei volentieri.
