I was in communication with Melissa leading up to our visit. Although we didn't see her until the final morning of our stay, we were welcomed with fresh fruits, coffee, teas and yogurts, space heaters (it got cold at night) she also left us two maps of the area and a hiking guidebook after I had mentioned to her we were interested in hiking. The space was very clean and it was a 10-15 minute drive to the center of Carmel-by-the-Sea. There were two of us staying over so Melissa had made up a second bed - the space is divided by a curtain so you do have some privacy. One thing I would note, is that we were woken up by roosters! The walls are pretty thin, and you can also hear people above your head. This wasn't a huge deal, but I might consider bringing ear plugs with you.
Melissa stayed in touch during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. The last morning she invited us over to her house (attached to the private room) for coffee. Unfortunately we didn't have time, but we did have a chance to talk with Melissa and her husband. They were very friendly and kind.
All in all, we had a pleasant stay and I would recommend it!
Melissa and her family were very hospitable! They had fresh orange juice, granola, and coffee/tea for us. They also gave us recommendations for dinner and Cafe Rustica, which was great. The room was clean and very comfortable.
We hosted Glen and Tivon who were on a college tour. It was a pleasure to have them. They are easy, amiable guests. I was appreciative that at the breakfast table, Glen and Tivon were very connecting with our other B&B guests. If Tivon chooses a local college, we 'll hope his parents return to stay with us.
Melissa is a great guest! I loved having her stay with us!
