We started hosting last summer and have met some wonderful people. I am an artist who enjoys painting the coast of Maine. I love travel, photography, kayaking and my two golden retrievers.
My mom and I planned a last minute getaway to the Maine Coast to take in the Fall Foliage- and we could not have picked a better place to stay! Sue and Cliff welcomed us into their beautiful seaside home, and were amazing hosts. Each day over a freshly cooked breakfast, they gave us great suggestions for touring the coast- complete with a hand drawn map. Their view was absolutely stunning, and their house (and Sue's paintings) even more so. Would highly recommend this to anyone!
We stayed in three different B&B in Maine this October, 2013 and Sue and Cliff's B&B was by far the best. They have a beautiful house with lots of living space. Bed for so comfortable and breakfast was great. We especially enjoyed the kayaks. Sue and Cliff are just wonderful hosts and so nice to talk to. A B&B not to be missed!
Sue and Cliff were amazing hosts, making us feel completely at home for our two day stay. Their home is beautiful and immaculately kept with great views of Sheepscot Bay. Breakfast was delicious, with homemade granola and yogurt one day and bacon and farm fresh eggs the next. Fresh fruit, bread and homemade jams completed the breakfast each morning. We were in Georgetown for a wedding so we did not have a lot of free time but Sue and Cliff offered some great suggestions for activities and food. We hope to make it back one day. Highly recommend.
Rob and I had never been to Maine, and had always wanted to go. We planned a very last minute trip and consequently struggled to find an available B-n-B. As good fortune would have it, Sue and Cliff's home was available! Their home is magnificent. On a grand scale, the stunning views, the spaciousness, the warmth, are all undeniable. On a smaller scale, Cliff's homemade jam, the clawfoot tub, and the sheets were all delicious. So much care has been given to this special home. We kayaked right off their dock, hiked at Reid State Park, and had 2 meals of fresh Maine lobster at 5 Island's, in walking distance from their home. Sue and Cliff were excellent hosts, kind and helpful, and clearly devoted to creating beauty and warmth in their Maine hide-away. We loved our experience, and look forward to visiting again!
I spent 2 nights at Susan and Cliff's house and I had a very pleasant stay. The room was very well decorated and elegant. The bathroom was very nice and clean. I was satisfied with the breakfast too.
So I highly recommend this place.
We used Sue and Cliff's house as a one-night stop on our way up the Maine coast. But within a few short hours of our arrival to their amazing home, I was already wishing we could have stayed for longer! The accommodations are very comfortable and the views from their back patio are stunning. They made us feel right at home—like we were family. They also provided us a lot of helpful pointers for the rest of our vacation. We really had a great time and look forward to when we'll be able to visit again!
Sue and Cliff's house is comfortable, beautifully furnished, peaceful, and quiet. This is the perfect place for a coastal Maine getaway. It is in an idyllic location -- near lots of outdoor activities and a lobster community, and the hosts provided such valuable, highly local and authentic recommendations for exploring the southern part of the coast. I came away rested, with a full belly of delicious home-raised eggs, and wishing that I didn't have to leave so quickly. I will definitely be back!
This was one of our best Airbnb stays. Sue and Clint (and Chase and Remy) were perfect hosts and made us feel right at home. They have a lovely property with a garden, chickens (whose eggs you can eat in the morning), and an incredible backyard that opens up into the bay (with kayaks to use when the weather's nice). Clean rooms, cozy beds, warm fireplace, it's all perfect.
What a lovely, quiet setting overlooking a little bay. My favorite part was kayaking in the morning as we watched lobster boats put out to sea. We sat around the firepit with their 2 goldens and watched a full moon and the water that evening. What a treat! Had the upstairs to ourselves in a wonderfully colorful and comfy room. Wonderful beaches and harbors nearby.
Waterfront B&B was in a great location with a stunning view of a beautiful cove and beyond. Charming old Maine house renovated with care and comfort. The hosts are thoughtful, helpful, and charming. We had a wonderful three nights stay.
