HI I was born in New Brunswick at a little town called Gagetown and lived my early life along the Saint John River where whole salmon was available regularly. Love salmon- don't you? I have lived both in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and love the sea! I enjoy our new Geopark designation, Stonehammer, and all the unique features of the Bay of Fundy . If you let me, I could overload you with lots of information :)from my International Tour Guide program so you will need to stay longer and, better yet, come back!
I have always had house guests :) including International students, travelers or out of town workers. I love how everyone comes in as strangers and leaves as friends! And I love to keep in contact with any who take the time!
I try to be environmentally friendly and as green as possible so I use steam cleaning, make my own phosphate free laundry detergent, recycle and have a stringent no smoking policy at the hostel. I appreciate guests who do that little extra by removing their outer footwear, cleaning up little spills or keeping their garbage tidy. And please note that I really need the afternoon to prepare for guests arrival between 4:30pm and 9:30pm ADT. Any special arrival time needs to be pre-arranged.
I choose to provide an economy based accommodation environment by providing comfortable beds, comfortable surroundings and happy pleasurable company. I believe in reuse, recycle and re-purpose items so sometimes rooms may seem eclectic :) but everything is clean and in good repair. Bedding and towelling is constantly being purchased.
This year has been a learning curve for me. I have found that every guest is so unique! And that I cannot please everyone. What one guest just loves, there is another who absolutely despises it! When one wants great hikes another just wants great pubs and bars! so I try to be flexible and provide information on everything that is in Saint John. It always keeps me striving and it is never boring! I look forward to meeting you and sharing this area of the world with you.
