Hi! I'm Ally :)

I'm from San Diego, California and I've recently graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology and a minor in Latin American and Iberian Studies.

After taking a leap of faith and traveling over 5000 miles to study abroad for a year (2013) in Chile (where I met my Australian boyfriend), I decided that life is really what you make it and that each moment should really count. I took advantage of my location and traveled as much as I could (most of the time with the boyfriend): I journeyed all up and down Chile, spent a week in the Amazon in Peru, went rock climbing and bungee jumping in Cusco, spent 2 weeks in Buenos Aires, backpacked through Patagonia (Chile and Argentina), froze my butt off in Salar de Uyuni - the salt flats of Bolivia, and hung out with giant moai statues on Easter Island (Isla de Pascua).

After finishing my last semester at UCSB this past June I decided to catch a plane to Alaska to work for the summer to save up for my big move to Australia (!) and see "The Last Frontier". After Dan (the Aussie boyfriend) comes to visit the U.S. for a couple months, I'll be making my big move in February 2015 to participate in a Masters of Development Studies at the University of Sydney.

We are a very fun couple who is up for most anything! Dan's a sports journalist for the National Rugby League in Australia and has got a great sense of humor. We love eating great food and going out on the town and dancing the night away. We're not afraid of doing the "touristy" thing but would rather walk the unbeaten path. Let's make some good connections and have a good time!
