As Bertie Wooster might put it - I had dropped us knee deep in the mulligatawny by booking the airbnb room twice, and having absent-mindedly invited several other people as well as Pippy and Patrick.
My poor husband had to share the sofa and, when the boiler blew on Saturday morning, almost discovered his inner Basil Fawlty.
Pippy and Patrick put up with all this with barely an arch of an eyebrow. They showed no signs of being disgruntled though they must have felt far from gruntled.
One can only hope the production of Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense was a more professional affair. I hear it was jolly good.
