Elena was very charming and did all she could to make us feel welcome. She was encouraging when I spoke to her in my imperfect Italian. The apartment was clean and modern, with a kitchen supplied with juice , coffee and limoncella for us. There was a beautiful view of Sorrento from the piazza. The only drawback was that the bus to Sorrento came only once an hour, so we had to work around that. The walk to the center of town was about 40 minutes.
Elena was an amazing host. Villa Casa Elena looks exactly like in photos. The views are breathtaking! WiFi works great, the apartment was clean and had everything we needed, kitchenette, great shower, table and comfy bed. Villa Casa also has a wonderful outdoor space, with a patio, lawn and terrace on the roof. Elena even let us try her homemade limoncello! Overall we had a wonderful time and would recommend staying at Casa Elena.
We had such a nice stay here. Elena and family were so kind and helpful and went well above and beyond the kind of service you would get at any hotel. We felt very well looked after from the night we arrived to the morning we left. The rooms are super clean and have everything you need. The gardens are very pretty and have great views over Sorrento and the sea. The bus to town leaves from right outside the house or you can take a picturesque (sometimes steep) walk down through some little villages (~30mins). Highly recommend!
Elena was a fantastic host. We arrived quite late in the evening but she came out to meet us and show us to our room. We were quite hungry so she then arranged for us to be driven down to a fantastic restaurant called Il Borgo so we could have something to eat (and then for the restaurant to drop us back!). Above and beyond.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and they are serviced and fresh towels provided each day, as well as a delicious bottle of limoncello! The outdoor area is fantastic and we enjoyed having a drink and dinner outside on one of the evenings.
It is really easy to get into Sorrento, its about a half hour picturesque walk down a little path into town or the bus stop is right outside the house. We also caught the bus to Positano and Amalfi. Bus tickets are super cheap and can be bought from any of the 'tabac' shops. Elena gave us our first tickets though!
As Elena doesn't speak English it is good to know a bit of italian, though we managed to get by with some spanish and a bit of made up sign language! Although she doesn't speak english Elena will still go out of her way to make sure you have all the relevant information. You won't have any trouble but might be worth downloading a translator app on your phone!
It was really lovely to be staying away from the tourist hustle and bustle of the main town of Sorrento and I would highly recommend Villa Casa Elena for any length of stay.
Elena was the most lovely host we have ever had. She kindly gave us bottles of limoncello (made by her) and lemons from her garden. All the necessary information (restaurants, local shops, directions, ..) was also kindly provided. The room and the small kitchen were super clean and had enough space for a couple. The view was amazing! I completely recommend!
Elena was the perfect host! A very kind, helpful & friendly person.
Her place is to die for! Big, clean room; best shower we've had the whole month we were traveling; complete amenities; beautiful garden and great view of the bay. She has a lemon garden, which you could pick from. Limoncello! It was a great stay at Elena's!
We loved staying at Casa Elena. Although Casa Elena is a good way up the hill from Sorrento, the beauty and pride she takes in her home and guest accommodations are well worth it. The room is not very spacious but just right for two people and their luggage. Casa Elena is impeccably clean, and the hot water and water pressure were perfect. The SITA buses were on strike during our stay and lovely Elena drove us to the grocery store and into town after we had to pay for a pricey cab when we checked in (expect 30 euro). Although Elena doesn't speak very much English nor do we speak Italian, with the help our translate app and as a Spanish speaker I was able to understand her very well. We bought groceries and were able to make good use of the fridge, stove and all utensils provided by Elena. The view outside from her immaculate gardens are beautiful and a quiet, serene break from the town below. If ever in Sorrento, we would stay in Casa Elena again! PS. The SITA bus did start working again on our way out of Sorrento and it helps that the bus stop is steps outside of Casa Elena when carrying your luggage.
We loved our stay at casa Elena and wish we were still there! Our apartment became our little home away from home for 5 nights. Loved being able to cook our own meals, use the BBQ and lemons from Elena's beautiful garden. The apartment is very clean and modern. Best shower we have had in 4 months travelling Europe! There is a washing machine which is always a plus - nice not to hand wash! The bus stop is just outside. You catch the Amalfi bus from the train station and ask to get off at the stop after don Pedro restaurant. Ask for bus tickets to priora (don't forget to buy a ticket for the way down because you can't buy them on the bus, or you can buy a 3 day ticket if you plan to use the bus a lot). We caught a taxi from the station and it cost 30€! Elena was very lovely and even though we could not speak Italian and she could not speak much English we communicated perfectly!! Would definitely stay here again!!!
Really great place!! Cannot explain it through this text box0 enough. Great condo. Where do I begin?
We arrived at the sorrento train station really excited. We weren't sure where this airbnb was, and we weren't sure how to get there the fastest, or cheapest way. We decided to pay a taxi driver to take us there which was about 35 euros - kinda steep, but not bad for the region apparently. If you aren't going to rent a vespa, or car, the bus is your only really cost effective way to get up to the airbnb. When we got there elena was there to meet us. What a sweet nice lady. She speaks VERY little english. bring a tablet or phone with google translate app and the italian package on it!! She was still really patient with explaining what was going on in italian to me (who knows a little italian and more spanish). It was really fun doing that by the way!
The airbnb is located just outside of sorrento, on a mountain in a town called Priora, which overlooks all of sorrento - very beautiful. There is alot of room in the apartment. The bed was very comfy and everything was clean and great and the AC worked great. Great shower. There is an outside patio which is cute where you can make dinner and serve / eat out there one of the nights. There is also a rooftop patio that is nice to relax on and maybe sunbathe. Really great energy to this place. Out of 20 days staying places, this was our favorite in all of italy. 100percent going to come back again - hopefully to stay for good!
