Dave is about the most accommodating host I have ever met. He was super responsive, mellow, nice about our requests.
When you have a question, you can text or call and he responds immediately.
The mango treehouse was in a great location just a 10 min walk from town and the ocean. The room is delightful and won't dissapoint! We hadn't expected the road noise but we're able to minimize it by closing windows on the road side. Easy, beautiful place to stay.
Everything was great. comfortable bed, very clean, nice shower and washroom, beautiful yard, access to washer and dryer, and 2 extremely friendly dogs. Also, location worked really well for us, walking distance to Paia and close to Hana Highway.
Firstly would like to say Dave is friendly and helpful and the location is great.
My husband and I stayed here for the second part of our honeymoon. When we arrived after 3pm we had to wait a little while for the cleaner to finish up but that was ok. Also, its not near as private as we were anticipating and for honeymooners that was a little off putting - ie: not all windows had curtains. But aside from that it was a pretty cruisy stay. Kitchen was accommodating and the pets are super friendly.
We enjoyed a week stay at Mangolanii in Paia and would definitely recommend this house to others! Great location, friendly and helpful hosts and some lovely dogs :) Thanks, Dave, for opening your cool home to us!
Beautiful large clean studio apartment with great cooking facilities. Property was lovely and the location was within walking distance of Paia. It was great to be able to explore Paia and hit up Mana foods without having to worry about parking. Paia was a great place to kick off day trips around the island.
We spent 10 wonderful days at Mabgolani celebrating our 40th anniversary. Our studio was clean and roomy. We bought fresh food at nearby grocer so having fully equipped kitchen and BBQ grill was convenient and fun. Dave was excellent host. Super nice guy and family. The grounds are beautifully maintained. You can tell they care a lot. We had complete privacy in our unit and I felt very safe. Dave provided tour and restaurant info, beach chairs, towels etc. location was great. Easy walk to Paia town to eat and shop (and I just had double hip replacements). We will stay here at Mangolani again! PS..we had red-eye flight home so Dave generously offered use of beach equipment, towels, shower and bathroom facilities (cool outdoor shower and modern, clean bath) after checking out so we could enjoy one last day at the beach. We will recommend to our family and friends. Thanks so much!
The large studio was great! Dave wasn't there, but Clint did a great job showing us around and giving us recommendations for local beaches and activities. We ended up doing a fair amount of cooking and the kitchen is very well stocked - even had a blender for making frozen drinks! The bed is comfortable - apparently the mattress is new. The windows on the unit are very conveniently placed so you get a nice breeze through the unit when they're all open. We would definitely be happy to stay here again.
Our experience was as advertised. Not always the case in my travels. Clint our host was welcoming, friendly and polite throughout our stay. For me the most important judgments, came from my family. They were very pleased overall with the home. It was very comfortable, lots of common family space with the living and kitchen area and a great Lanai with a large dining table and room to do Yoga practice. Location was good within walking distance to Mana Foods, dining and Baldwin beach. Overall very satisfied with our stay.
Dave was a great guest! He left our cottage spotless! We would love to have him back anytime.
Iʻve traveled to over 19 counties and Mango Lani has to be one of my favorite vacation rentals! Itʻs like a home away from home.
We found Dave's beautiful "Mangolani" through Airbnb, which was the first time we tried out finding a place to stay through this page. Dave's house was just the perfect loacation for us! The town is supercute and hands down, for me the best place to stay anyways on Maui. the accommodation is in walking distance to beach, shops and restaurants, the rooms were very clean, nice and everything was there we needed Fully furnished kitchen, washing possibilities, parking lots and loads more). Dave was always very friendly and helpful for whathever we needed!! We liked the funny and cozy barbecue nights we had in "our" perfect Avocalani :-) Thanks Dave, we had an awesome time with you, we enjoyed being with you and the other guests and we highly recommend you to anyone travelling to Maui and looking for an Aloha place to stay! Cheers, Miryam
I love Maui, love Paia, love Mangolani, and love Dave! I've stayed at Mangolani twice now, and I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Maui. Dave was a great host and has since become a great friend. He introduced us to some other really cool locals and gave awesome recommendations for things to do on our trip. Mangolani is beautiful and clean, and it gets extra points for the hot tub and tree house. Paia is the CUTEST town with a true local feel, and I've met some really wonderful people there. On my first night, I picked up food from the local market and made dinner in the Mangolani kitchen with another guest, and I ended up exploring the island with her the rest of my trip. Met a bunch of (email hidden) down the street who threw me a spontaneous birthday party at one of their homes. If you want the local experience over the tourist/resort experience, I highly recommend staying at Mangolani. And if you're lucky enough to catch Dave when he's home and not surfing around the world, you will have a great resource for your trip!
