Elisa is a lovely person, and very hospitable. She really made me feel welcome. I would highly recommend staying here. The building is in a great location. Her apartment is nice, and the bed is good.
Great location in upper west side. Subway at the end of the block. Elisa is a fabulous host. She was very accommodating and flexible. She was a great resource of things to do and even took me to some of the museums. Very sweet - THANKS for everything, Elisa.
It was great having you! Good luck with everything! Let me know how things progress. Hope to see you again sometime.
I stayed with Elisa for two nights and the experience couldn't have gone better. We met at a prearranged time on Friday, took a quick tour of her apartment and said our goodbyes as we both had plans the evening.
My room was exactly as she described - her son's room was filled with trophies and other mementos from his high school years. Her description of the room was truthful, and I slept soundly, wrapped in clean New York Jet sheets!
While chatting over breakfast each morning, I got to know Elisa, her job and family life. She is a great host - helpful, engaging and a wealth of knowledge about the city. In her spare time she volunteers her time at MoMA - helping visitors at the museum. This same warmth and helpfulness shines through when she hosts guests in her home.
I would love to stay with Elisa again and I am certain others will have a wonderful experience if they choose to spend time in her home.
Staying with Elisa was a wonderful experience. I was in NYC for a demanding workshop, and it was so great to come "home" to Elisa's place -- she really made me feel welcome. She's so interesting and is such a warm and thoughtful host -- I felt like I was hanging out with an old friend after the busy day. It's a lovely apartment, and while the room is small (as advertised) I found it quite comfortable and with plenty of space for a single person traveling light. I'd definitely come back!
Elisa is a wonderful host. She is welcoming, friendly and eager to help you in every way. She loves art and a visit with her to MoMA was one of the best New York experiences I've had. It was so nice to chat with her and to share what I saw and did during the day — it was like I stayed with a good friend.
Elisa's building is in a very nice area of the city. There's no wifi in her apartment but a Starbucks is just across the street and you can use their free wifi without necessarily buying anything. The room is small but is perfect for one person without too much luggage, and the bed is perfectly comfy. And New York bagels with cream cheese were waiting for me every morning.
Elisa is a very friendly, caring person who tried to make me comfortable and welcome. When I arrived, she surprised me with a nice meal of bagels and cream cheese from Zabars, and we ate the leftovers at breakfast. I felt relaxed and safe, and slept easily.
The apartment and the room are quiet and basically clean. They are very cluttered and there is no place to put your suitcase or belongings. (I used the floor.) The clutter makes it hard to remove every bit of dust, though I didn't see any that was obvious. The bed is very comfortable. A fan kept the air moving. The bathroom, sheets, and towels were clean.
It is on the corner of 93 St and West End Ave. The subway entrance is 1 block (email hidden) and Broadway for the local 1 and the express 2 and 3 trains that get you downtown in 15 minutes. There are many shops and restaurants nearby on Broadway.
I would recommend this to a woman traveling alone with just an overnight bag. Elisa is a high-energy woman who plays the flute and acts on stage, in addition to her full-time job in advertising. You will enjoy meeting this New Yorker.
The room is as advertised; small with a few drawers for clothes. But if you don't mind that, her apartment is comfortable and clean and in a great neighborhood with easy subway access (a station only 2 blocks away) and plenty of good restaurants nearby. If you are into the arts and visiting galleries and museums and also into music, Elisa offers excellent advice and guidance. Would definitely stay with her again!
Elisa is a wonderful host! She is very prompt with all communications, affable and generous, her apt. is perfectly situated in one of my favorite neighborhoods. This is a very lived-in apt. so it wouldn't be for you if everything has to be spare and tidy. Elisa has an eclectic vibe and I would stay there again in a New York Minute!
I very much enjoyed my stay with Elisa London.
Elisa warned me in advance that the room is her son's room while he is off at college. She described it as a typical NY maid's room; tiny, cramped, and dirty. I assured her that since I have spent years travelling around the world on a minimal budget I would be able to make myself comfortable for 3 days. The room is tiny, and crammed with the momentos of her son's childhood, but not dirty. One drawer was cleared out, and I perched my carry-on bag there, since I travel light. People with more stuff or who plan a longer stay might not be happy. Although the room is small, guests can eat in the kitchen or sit in the living-room. The building is in a safe and central location, close to the subways.
Elisa was a welcoming host, who went out of her way to be sure that I was happy. and a very interesting person to talk to. She is involved with art, and had many helpful suggestions.
