Easygoing hosts with a cosy home in Taupo.
Warm and friendly people, Becky and James go out of their way to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. Recommended.
We really enjoyed our time with Becky and her husband. Very friendly couple, beautiful/clean home with an amazing garden, great conversation, good travel advice and I definitely enjoyed the homemade bread in the morning! If we are ever back we would surely stay with them again.
Friendly couple accepting our very late arrival (2300 hrs) with no problem. Lovely homemade bread for breakfast Nice chat before they had to go to work and us to catch our flight.
We could not have been made feel more at home by Becky and James during our stay. Such a special little house in a great location for a quick 2k jog into town. Having breakfast provided was a lovely surprise and much needed to prepare for all the activities that are around to do. Very glad we got the chance to meet this lovely couple and only sorry we couldn't stay that bit longer!
Great house and great hosts, you can feel a very good energy in their house. I warmly suggest this accommodation in Taupo!
We stayed for two nights with Becky and James while visiting some of Taupo's highlights: geothermal pools and a hot water stream, the charming little town center, a honey museum.
The house is exactly as described: cosy and cabin like with wooden walls. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was good, with freshly baked bread. It was a big help to have a chance to use the washing machine. There's a great local pub just up the road, the nicest we've been to so far in our NZ holiday.
Becky and James were very welcoming and it was a real pleasure to meet them and get to know them a little.
A great 2-night stay! Becky and James wetre going to be out when I arrived, so Becky texted me on how to pick up the key. I found a nice friendly welcome note waiting for me, a warm clean sunny room, and the wifi password! Spent an enjoyable evening talking with my hosts. The next day I was picked up by the Tongariro Expeditions bus just a few blocks away, since I was doing the Alpine Crossing hike - the location was incredibly convenient, since I could leave my car at the house. The morning of my departure included some delicious homemade bread. Just a note to any light sleepers, the house is very pleasant and comfortable, but it does creak a bit due to the construction. I was exhausted from the alpine hike and slept great.
We had a great stay with Becky and James in their cosy cottage. We especially liked our conversations over cashews and tea on New Zealand culture and nature. They were very helpful in helping us for our trek.
Becky and James' house is fully 70-style, complete with a cosy wood stove. The room is clean and comfortable.
For breakfast we had James' self-made bread and Becky's apple mousse. Very tasty!
We very much enjoyed James and Becky's company and would love to see them again in Taupo or Amsterdam.
Becky and James were the perfect hosts! Great room with a cozy cabin feel. They were always open to a chat and I really can't recommend them enough! Super great location just a few blocks from the water. :-)
I was away for the weekend when Becky and partner stayed but Angus tells me they were great guests. Very friendly and great to have around. Definitely recommend to others :)
