we really enjoyed staying here. Rome is such a beautiful city and so is this apartment. it is well designed and very stylish, bright, clean and right in the center of Monti - a very charming neighbourhood of Rome, with nice restaurants and small shops and 5 minutes from Colosseum and Foro Romano. And Domenico is a very friendly and nice host :)
Domenico is a real gentlemen! It was a great pleasure to be his guests. The little apartment is incredibly clean, stylish, peaceful whilst in the middle of it all - the heart of hipster Monti. BBC, the Guardian, and a number of other publishers are lining up to speak about this incredibly pretty 13th century, ivy-covered building, with the apartment upstairs and the bistro downstairs. It feels like you really are a privileged guests to be staying there. It comes highly recommended. And food in the bistro is great too!!
We had a great experience staying here. Domenico was warm, gracious and accessible. The apartment is stylish and the location is amazing. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on our next trip to Rome.
Gorgeous apartment in the great area of Monti, easy to find, Domenico was very welcoming and friendly, with good communication. The apartment itself was stunning on the outside and inside. Bathroom was fine if you simply accepted it as more of a wet room, but the whole interior was great and the drawbridge to the bathroom was a fun feature!
Had a great stay in Rome and this apartment is situated in a friendly area, no noise complaints from us, but there were roadworks going on so woken up early, just meant we were up to see more of the city. Lots of lovely cafes and bars and restaurants just round the corner as well as being within walking distance of everything in Rome, we walked the entire city from there with great ease, from Piazza St Pieter to San Lorenzo on the other side of Termini with the apartment situated in a great location and good distance from both.
Domenico was generous in letting us leave our luggage in the apartment for longer as well as our flight wasn't until the evening and his cafe wasn't open on that day (otherwise there was storage within there). Very friendly and overall a fantastic stay in a great city with a stunning place to stay.
We spent two wonderful nights above La Cassetta. The apartment was as presented in the pictures; clean, minimalist, and functional. Its location in Monti is perfect, we were a short walk from many historical sites. The bustle in the evening was wonderful as we sat with many locals at a nearby fountain. Each morning we stopped into Domenico in La Cassetta for a morning cappuccino, his cafe and friendly cheer was a great start to each day.
Domenico was an amazing host. My sister and I arrived at his cafe at 8:00am on a Sunday (which is kind, because no one is out and about in Rome that early on Sunday) and let us store our bags in the basement. He also made us a delicious espresso and gave some tips on what to do until the apartment was ready (another guest was still there).
We checked in at midday and were thrilled. The space is represented well in the photos, but it's even better in person. The view from the room looks over the piazza madonna dei monti, a lively area with a gorgeous cathedral, restaurants and one of those Roman fountains that locals sit around at night while they catch up with friends. It's picturesque.
The kitchen has everything you'd need (fridge, stove, utensils, large marble farm sink) to cook, but I recommend eating out around the apartment. The restaurants in Monti were amazing -- I especially recommend Ai Tre Scalini on Via Panisperna and, of course, La Casetta, Domenico's cafe downstairs!
The Colloseo, Forum, Trevi Fountain and Pantheon are all within 15 minute walks. Definitely try to plan your route ahead of time though, unless you don't mind getting a little lost, as Roman streets can be a little confusing for Americans.
We walked down to Via San Giovanni in Laterano by the Colloseo for drinks later at night. It's a 10 minute walk to a very vibrant and colorful Roman scene: lots of folks drinking, playing cards, hugging, and just strolling back and forth down a 200 foot stretch of road.
Go to La Casetta, stay at Domenico's apartment. It's the perfect place to stay for a comfortable and authentic Roman experience.
What an amazing place to stay in Rome. Beautiful apartment, great location & Domenico was just so lovely and helpful. Everything about our stay here was a delight. Many, many thanks, Peta xx
Domenico is lovely, made us really welcome.......it's a fab locatioon and a wonderful old ivy covered building....four long shuttered windows, so lots of light and air...and a sense of sleeping within old old stone walls, so for us even though its full of life during the night ...we slept well...snuggled in a comfy bed within the old stone walls, and underneath the wooden rafters.....ear plugs a must though.......the bathroom is ropey...not comfy and very wet and damp...but to be honest i would rather the simple beauty of this building over a flash or even comfy bathroom..,.so we will be back !!! and feel its a gem !!!
Great location, slap bang in the middle of Ancient Rome. 10 minutes walk to the Colessuem. Nice pizza place on the street and a small shop for essentials.
Great location and cozy studio apartment. Domenico is a very welcoming host! If you are looking for a centrally located apartment, you can't go wrong with this beauty.
