Young family. Born and raised on Maui. Love the ocean. Volunteers for environmental groups.
excellent directions from the airport…..
small fruit basket on table. unit was as described. Very clean, extremely well-supplied kitchen, very comfortable bed.
Stayed there 6 wks…quiet, & private.
Kelly is very helpful host, lending beach chairs, back pack & snorkel. Often fruit like breadfruit or papaya would appear on our deck. Although the rainy side of the island we would just drive to other side, never was a problem. Located at the start of the Hana Highway enabled us to explore that area on several drives.
Truly enjoyed our stay there…felt like home when we left.
The house is clean, quiet and nice, a place to have a good night`s sleep after a exhausting day.

There was a nice bowl of fruit awaiting my arrival. This was the perfect retreat for a busy business traveler: quite, peaceful, fully stocked with kitchen and bath basics. I did not get to meet the hosts in my 6 nights due to our schedules. I would stay again and recommend this property!
Kelly and Jud are super nice people, we spent a wonderful 3 days in the charming guest house. Our luggage did not arrive to Maui with us and these folks were so accommodating whenever we needed anything. The place is clean, pretty and it was perfect for my husband and I. The neighborhood is quiet and residential.
While we stayed up North for the first 3 days it was easy to take a trip down the Hana highway and explore the small towns of Haiku and Paia.
The rest if the trip we stayed in Wailea to check out the South and West side of the island. An unforgettable trip!
Kelly & Jud made us feel right at home! We arrived at night in a terrible storm. They had left us umbrellas and flashlights as the power kept going out. The apartment had everything you need and more! Such a cast place and so homely. We'd often come home from a day at the beach or activity to find fresh fruit at our door. everything is spot on as advertised. Mahalo for having us!
This studio was PERFECT for me and my husband for our 10 day trip to Maui. It is so thoughtfully appointed and comfortable - we were there for Christmas and Kelly was incredibly sweet and brought us some edible treats (along with fruit left on the porch throughout our stay).
We absolutely loved the location of the studio. It is in a quiet, residential neighborhood, but close to Paia, Haiku and on the road to Hana. Inside, the studio had everything we needed and it was the perfect size/layout for the two of us.
We couldn't have been happier with our "home away from home" and very much hope to some day get back to this beautiful oasis on Maui!
The host was fine
We arrived after dark but the entrance path was lit and the lights were on inside. What a great find! The decor was tropical and tasteful, the place was spotless, and the location is very central for exploring upcountry, Haleakala National Park, and the Hana Rd. The airport is about a 15 minute drive. The kitchen was well equipped with simply everything we could think of. The bathroom had lots of fluffy towels plus q-tips, cotton balls, a hair dryer, first aid kit, and aloe vera gel. This unit is attached to the main house but has its own entrance and complete privacy from the windows. I honestly do not think you'll find a better place on expensive Maui for this price!
Kelly and Jud are wonderful hosts. Although we did not cross paths during my stay, I always felt very much at home in the studio. The unit was very clean and had everything one might need while vacationing. The fruit gifts and personal note left for me were welcoming. I loved staying in the Haiku area and got to know my way around Paia and Makawao. It was so enjoyable to stay in an area away from the busy resorts and made my trip on the road to Hana a breeze. If you have never stayed on the North side of the island I highly recommend it. Staying at Kelly and Juds studio was like staying in an awesome guest suite of a good friend. Everything was perfect and I hope to stay there again on my next trip. Thanks so much for sharing your special place with me. Meredith
The space was exactly what my friend and I were looking for - very functional kitchen, clean, well furnished and surprisingly spacious. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and made our stay super comfy. It was good to just come back and crash after a long day and eating out, but we also cooked some nice meals in on a few nights which made for some particularly comfortable evenings in.
It's a definite locals' neighborhood as opposed to the touristy resorts in Lahaina. I also wouldn't recommend it if you aren't getting a rental car because it's a 10-15 minute drive from town, but you can't really experience the island without a car anyways.
Bottom line, excellent place!
