Young family. Born and raised on Maui. Love the ocean. Volunteers for environmental groups.
It was a pleasure to stay here. Hana Hwy is really close which was great. Only regret was that our phones didnot have service, but the wifi made up for it :)
We'll be staying here for our next visit to Maui.
Lovely place, just as pictured. Hosts are delightful. I had mentioned in my booking that my niece was running her first half-marathon. We came back from the race to a congratulatory note and flowers! I loved the location --in a less touristy area of the island, but still a quick drive to the airport. It's very close to north shore beaches, the crater, or Paia.
If you're looking for a peaceful, homey spot to stay in the gorgeous jungle countryside, then you found your place! The size of the studio is perfect for two people and we both slept well on the firm mattress. We knew there was a full kitchen so we picked up some groceries before we checked in so we could make our breakfast in the morning and relax before heading out to explore. Everything was very clean and organized and I got the sense the unit was very well cared for. I loved our experience and can't wait to come back! Thanks so much for sharing your great space with us! :)
We had the best time staying here. It was so peaceful and really made our stay comfortable and cozy. The space was clean and really lived up to all the other stellar reviews. It's a little bit more off the beaten path, but just a 15 minute drive in Pa'ia and to the beach. The surrounding area is so lush that we felt like we were sleeping in the jungle, which lent to a very peaceful sleep every night. We would highly recommend this place to anyone else thinking about staying here.
3 nights in this cute place was a great bargain. Very clean and comfortable. Recommend you book soon before the owners realize they should raise their prices.
We had the best time during our one week visit to Maui, and a big reason for that was our choice to stay at the "Beautiful Tropical Studio". Located in a quiet and lush neighborhood, it only takes a short drive to reach the north shore with its great beaches and waves. It is also perfectly located to start the Road to Hana a the 0 mile marker. Our hosts greeted us nicely and we felt very secure. Overall, we can only recommend this place!
A basket of fresh fruits on the table welcomed us when we checked in. The studio was beautiful and clean. It's in a pretty rural area but not far from things - half hour from Kahului airport, 10 min from Paia town, and just minutes from the Hana highway. There's a Costco right by the airport so we made our run and enjoyed cooked meals almost every night. Like other guests have mentioned, the kitchen is well equipped but cooking essentials like oil, salt, pepper, and sugar aren't provided so remember to grab some at the market if you plan on cooking a lot. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay here again when we return to Maui!
We were very happy with this place and stayed 4 nights. Well designed, laid out and equipped studio in a quiet country setting. Comfortable bed, quality sheets, and responsive hosts. Very convenient for exploring the east side of the island (road to Hana, Haleaka crater, Makaweo) and we really enjoyed hanging out in Pa'ia and its beaches (Baldwin and "baby beach"). The studio IS 11 miles out of Pa'ia and at first I thought that was too far but after a couple of days - we stopped noticing the distance. Very easy to stop in Pa'ia and eat at one of the many marvelous restaurants (no reservations required) or pick up groceries at Mana Foods and cook in the well appointed kitchen. Loved the fresh fruit left by our hosts.
Kelly and Jud's upcountry studio is roomy and cozy. The large windows let in a lot of light and cross-flow air circulation. Living area and kitchen are spacious and the bedroom is tucked off to the side. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare our meals. Books and DVD movies are provided. The WIFI internet worked well for us. There is a nice yard surrounded by tropical trees.
Kelly and Jud are welcoming hosts and respected our privacy, while being there for us if we needed anything. This studio is in a great location, 1.1 miles off the Road to Hana, at Mile Marker 0. You can get a head start on the Road to Hana ahead of all the others! It is also good for visits to Haleakala National Park and other gardens and small towns in the upcountry area of Maui. A good value, too!
We spent there 3 nights.the studio is at the ground floor in the owner's house on a nice garden ,with privacy.the place is quite and the beds (website hidden) the kitchen you can cook well but you have to buy everything(no salt, oil, vinegar ecc).it's quite isolated if you want to eat out you have to drive back to haiku or better paia.the communication with the hosts was great.everything was satisfactory apart of 2 things:the compressor of the fridge (even if it's new)is so loud that it's hard to sleep and it's a pity not to enjoy the peace of the place and the frogs!we would have appreciated couple of words or at least an hallo from the hosts:I thought that was a part of the bnb culture.we recommend it.
