The property is fairly small, but is very clean and has all the amenities you might need. And you cannot complain about the location. Not only is it close by to public transport, but it is surrounded by lovely places to drink and eat, not to mention close by the Piedmont Park and the Botanical Gardens. The neighbourhood is also lovely and welcoming. It really is a great place to stay for a visit in Atlanta.
I noticed in other reviews that others had a hard time getting a hold of Esha, but I found that when I contacted her through her personal email and not through Airbnb that she was very prompt with replying.
Overall, we had a lovely time at Esha's place.
The apartment is in a great location and we had no problems parking and getting into the complex after I received the email instructions from Esha. However, there was only one clean towel available for the four of us staying there and I informed Esha of this shortly after our arrival but we didn't receive any more towels during our three night/four day stay. We also ran out of toilet paper and had to purchase it ourselves.
I wish I could rate Esha's homestay experience more highly. The apartment itself is a nice studio in a new building, located in a very desirable area of Atlanta. Very convenient to MARTA, freeways and a variety of bars and restaurants nearby. The place was not very clean, no towels provided, dishwasher was full of dirty dishes. I understand life gets in the way of these things, but still a little planning goes a long way. Airbnb is a business, after all, and if you're a host you should treat it as such. The space is comfortable for two people if privacy isn't an issue, but we had three which made it a bit cramped.
Unfortunately, I can only give two stars because of a series of very misleading communications I exchanged with the host. Normally in this kind of arrangement you would get instructions on how to get into the apartment when the host isn't there to let you in. I try repeatedly to get in touch with Esha to no avail. Finally, she contacts me the day before I flew into Atlanta from NYC asking me "where in Columbia I was" (I had told her I was a Columbia student). Thinking nothing of it, I told her what department. No, she wanted to meet me on campus at 10pm - in New York! First, I had no idea she was even in New York to begin with. Second, why on earth would I be able to meet someone at 10pm far from home without advance notice? I try to reschedule our meeting to the next morning so I can pick up the extra key - she proceeds to blow me off or flake three separate times, effectively depriving me of an entire morning the day I fly out, time which I could have spent packing. It was only after flaking three separate times that Esha finally emails me with instructions to access the building. I enjoyed my stay here, but Esha is NOT a good communicator, and this is something potentially devastating to one's itinerary. Make sure you arrive during daylight hours if you're booking here.
I had a really pleasant stay. Apartment is safe, clean, quiet and conviniently located in the heart of Midtown. Somewhere I would definetely stay again when back in Atlanta. Perfect for one person or even a couple.
The location and apartment were nice (after it was cleaned) and comfortable. I was an exhibitor for the Dogwood Arts Festival held at Piedmont Park, so the location was very convenient. I do want to preface this review with the fact that Esha did credit me $100 for my troubles, which were many. First, I emailed her repeatedly 2 weeks before my visit getting little response. I finally texted her 2 days before my arrival telling her I would be there early afternoon in 2 days and she did respond with access info. As I was coming into Atlanta alone, (a single woman) I'll admit I was nervous. I asked Esha on my inquiry before I booked the apt. if my full size van would fit in her garage. She said "no problem". I get there and there is a huge sign on the garage "no vans". This was a problem for me, as I had a van full of $80,000 worth of artwork and no secure place to park it. Thankfully, the leasing office staff found me parking. They also let me into the gate of the apt. as I had trouble getting in. I get into the apartment and there was no electric and the place was a mess. (Thank goodness it was 1pm and not 11 pm!) I call Esha-cannot get her directly so I leave her a voice message and text her. I talk to the leasing office to see if this is a building wide electric outage. They tell me that there is no problem in any other part of the building. They then ask if I am renting from Esha and I tell them yes-for the weekend. They tell me she is not permitted to sublet. Also, that the week before someone else was in their office looking for the key, so they had already suspected that she was subletting. They really could have kicked me out. Luckily, they saw how distressed I was and could not have been nicer. They even offered to rent me an apt for the weekend if the electric was not turned back on in Esha's apt. Finally, Esha calls me back (she was in NYC) and is upset that I talked with her leasing office! She says her cleaning lady mixed up the dates and that there was a technical issue with the electric. Finally, after 2- 3 hours the apt was cleaned and the electric turned on. I had a nice stay after all of this but I learned 2 things-even after using airbnb many times before. First, always get to your destination during the day to solve problems. Secondly, for me, I will only use owner occupied places. I had a friend who was made to leave a different airbnb in the middle of their stay when it was found out they were subletting-luckily this did not happen here! Hopefully Esha can work something out with her leasing company.
The location is amazing. Took the MARTA from airport to Midtown stop, from there its about a 10 min casual walk on 10th St over to Piedmont. The neighborhood is clean, friendly, and safe. There are many bars and restaurants within the immediate vicinity. I ate at the Flying Biscuit both mornings, the food was delicious, seemed to be a neighborhood favorite as it was packed. The apartment is a very short walk down Piedmont to Piedmont park, where myself and three other friends attended a wedding. The apartment is a studio, the main bed is amazing and super comfortable, the sofa turns into a futon. My friends said it wasn't too comfortable. The space, as a studio, is tight for 4 people. So make sure privacy isn't an issue before booking this space, as it should not be shared with people you aren't very close to. Overall the entire space was tidy and clean. This was my first guest experience through Airbnb.
Esha was responsive to all 20 million of my text and emails! I'm a very anxious traveler, so I'm constantly asking questions and looking for clarification. Access into the building was exactly as she described in the instructional email. The wifi was perfect and strong, super cute code, Harry Potter ;) I would stay here again and highly recommend it.
The apartment was small and cozy but very clean. It's in a great location - lots of restaurants very close by and we felt safe walking around at night. We had some troubles with Esha responding to emails, texts, and messages - but finally the night before we arrived, she sent us very detailed instructions. We had no problems accessing the apartment and the parking was convenient (and free!).
Our stay at Esha and Gregory's place was overall quite nice though there were some hiccups initially. We had a good deal of trouble communicating with Esha upon arrival, so I would have appreciated earlier and more thorough directions from her before arrival. We were kept waiting a few hours from when we told her we'd be arriving. It wasn't so bad because we went and got a bite to eat, but it was still frustrating and unnerving nonetheless about whether we would get in or need to check into a hotel.
Eventually we got into their apartment and though it's a studio, it was comfortable and very clean. The location is convenient, especially if you have a car. If not, the MARTA station isn't too far and the buses stop just around the corner.
Would definitely stay here again! Great location close to so many restaurants and attractions. Parking is so important in this location and it's awesome that it is included. The apartment was very clean. Getting the key and fob for the garage was effortless.
After sending two messages (including one the day before) reminding Esha & Gregory that we would be arriving on the date and time I had booked, I was a little surprised when I called Esha and heard that she had "gotten her dates confused about when we were arriving."
We were only there for a night, the apartment was pretty clean and was in a great central location for the day. Getting simple info like the wifi information was pretty difficult, as there was no guest book or information listed (I'm assuming because of the arrival date confusion?) Anyway, great for a night or two, but I don't know if I'd recommend for any longer than that. Also, make sure you get some kind of confirmation from them about your arrival.
