I love walking or biking around and exploring new places (which isn't too difficult these days, having recently moved from Chicago to San Francisco), enjoy eating (am always searching for a great veggie or blackbean burger) and have a serious sweet tooth. I am happy reading a good book in the grass in a park; some of my favorites include observations on life by guys like Malcolm Gladwell, Mark Kurlansky, and the Freakonomics dynamic duo Levitt&Dubner, adventure by Jon Krakauer, or stories about people by Alex Kotlowitz. I like to relax and learn at the same time by watching movies, especially documentaries like The Interrupters (again, produced by Alex Kotlowitz- love him!).
I have done a fair share of traveling, and love talking with other people about trips and adventures. I am always interested in learning something new. I taught in Chicago Public Schools for six years and currently teach fifth and sixth grade math and science at an independent school in San Francisco, and I am always up for talking about education, policy, society, and kids.
I appreciate you allowing me into your home and will take good care of your things. I look forward to meeting you!
