I'm a secondary school teacher who has finally earned time off for good behaviour (aka Long Service Leave). I'm really looking forward to getting back to visit the UK, Italy, Spain and Germany - my last trip was in 2004, which has somehow ended up being almost ten years ago. Back then I was happy to stay in 20 bunk dorms in hostels, but somehow I think I might enjoy a more grownup standard this time. I'm planning to be away for three months, so luckily I don't have any kids. I hope my fish won't miss me too much. I somehow can't avoid travelling with my twin sister and we've had lots of adventures like literally being chased by a komodo dragon (in Komodo), and orangutan (in Sumatra) and some drunk American guy (in New Orleans - okay, that one's not literally true).
I'm a bit of an internet nerd, like to crochet, enjoy reading fiction, love TV shows like Doctor Who and Buffy. My family background is Italian/Australian, but I speak Indonesian, which confuses my Italian relatives no end, but makes sense in an Australian/regional context. My motto that I tell my students is "Be excellent to each other" - not just because Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure was a great film, but because the world would be a better place is everyone treated each other with respect.
