I was out of town dealing with a family emergenct and explained this. I asked if I needed to move my stuff and was told No, it was fine. This is my home, not a place I use just for airbnb. If people are staying for a longer period I move things, but not usually for one night. People came each day to clean the litter box and feed the cat. I was totally clear that the key needed to be put back in it's place IMMEDIATELY because the cat care people needed it to get in. Instead, Francesca and her family took the key with them for the day so that when the person came to clean the litter and feed the cat, there was no key and they couldn't get in. I'm assuming that's why there was an odor, because I'm fanatical about keeping her space clean. There are pictures of each room on the listing, so I'm not at all sure how to respond.
I'm sorry that my home was a disappointment. I keep it neat and clean and I'm sorry that my personal belongings being there were a problem. I try to welcome guests and meet their needs. Francesca had my cell phone no. and my neighbors contact information and I wish she would have called me and let me know that there was a problem with the space. I would have gladly refunded the money and tried to assist them in finding a more suitable place to stay. I had no idea that there was any problem until I read this review.
