Midwest girl living in the Big city--loves to travel & loves to host!
This apartment was great for my parent's visit to NYC.
We used Shannon and Susan's apartment for a long Thanksgiving weekend and it was great! The apartment has great space, with a small yet very efficient kitchen. They were wonderful to deal with, responsive, flexible and very accomodating of our arrival time. Only caveat is that the terrace was under major construction and so completely closed ott. We weren't planning on using on it, and no work was being while we were there, but f you are staying soon, you may want to see if work is done, otherwise it could be noisy.
This apartment was perfect for my Mom. She is a very young 86 year old and was visiting Brooklyn for her granddaughters wedding. The elevator was perfect and the security put her at ease since she was staying there by herself. The apartment was very clean and according to my mom the bed was very comfortable. Shannon was very easy to work with and left great notes and communicated with me often prior to her stay.
When I spoke to Shannon on the phone while we were finalizing our plans to rent her apartment, I could tell that she was someone who really cared that we would have a good experience in her place.
It worked out very well for us to stay there. We really had no complaints. As promised, we did not hear much outside noise while we were in the apartment and were able to sleep well. I loved how the kitchen window looked out on trees and plants. It really made me feel like we were not in the middle of a very big urban area. The neighborhood is so much fun! I spent an hour and a half at the Farmer's Market on Saturday morning and we took a walk in the park on Friday. We discovered Ample Hills ice cream and other good food places. It was great to have the subway stop just one block from the building.
Of course, the heat on July 4th weekend was horrendous, but having the air conditioning in the apartment made it very comfortable.
We are so lucky to have had such a good experience with our first time renting through Airbnb. We may very well try to be repeat customers some time in the near future.
Shannon's apartment is wonderful. In a fabulous building, on a beautiful tree lined street in one of the best neighborhoods in Brooklyn. The apartment is very clean, really comfortable bed and pull out couch. bright and airy space. The terrace is lovely and sunny and full of plants. My friend and I stayed there over Memorial day week end. We travel to Brooklyn and NYC often and this was one of the easiest and nicest places we have stayed in. Cheers to Shannon!
I spent a week in Shannon and Susan’s lovely apartment. It really is an “art-filled gem” and wonderfully comfortable. It was a great place to relax while getting to know my new twin grandchildren. It’s full of natural light in the daytime and has such interesting and fun art work.
The description of apartment details and location is accurate. Park Slope is beautiful and it’s great to be this close to Prospect Park (not to mention the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, Brooklyn Museum of Art and the restaurants, bars and shops in the neighborhood). Communication was easy. The apartment was clean. I would recommend this apartment enthusiastically to others and I hope to stay there again on another visit. Thank-you Shannon and Susan!
Dear Susan and Shannon,
My family; husband, son with girlfriend and I, had a very pleasant stay for ten days, in your cosy and lovely apartment. Everything was neat and tidy. We did not miss anything. We slept like logs in comfortable beds. Your treatment was friendly and we really would like to to rent your wonderful apartment again next time in NY. The surroundings were superb, proper and quiet and it was near to the subway.

Shannon and Susan's apartment was clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. Location was perfect with easy access to the park and to the subways. Communication was a breeze and staying in their home was a pleasure. We could not possibly ask for better hosts.
We had to be in Brooklyn for a wedding in Prospect Park and we are so glad that we found this fantastic apartment in such a fun location. Large, tastefully decorated, clean, and secure, the apartment also has an awesome private outdoor patio. Located just a few steps from Prospect Park and the many restaurants/bars of Park Slope, there were so many trees shading the street you'll feel like you're staying in the park. Communication was excellent leading up to the stay and we felt entirely at ease, despite the fact that this was our first time renting through AirBnB. Helpful tips and numerous little touches that were above and beyond what we were expecting made this stay unforgettable. We cannot recommend Shannon and her apartment highly enough and will cross our finger that the apartment is available the next time we're heading to Brooklyn.
Thoughtful and warm, stylish and sophisticated -- that's Shannon, whose married to one of my best friends. Their apartment feels huge because its layout flows seamlessly and has all the spaces you could want. Views of the park make it extra cozy. Cosmopolitan decor, easy to relax space. Love to stay there whenever I can.
Shannon is a lovely, friendly, sweet person and this is a beautiful apartment! Everything in the apartment is well cared for and the space has a peaceful, restful energy. AND it's just a couple blocks from Prospect Park, and one block from the subway, so you can wake up in the morning, have breakfast on the terrace, and go do your thing. I travel for a living and have stayed in many hotels and houses over the years, and this is one of my favorite places to land. Shannon is honest, kind, and helpful. You'll love it here.
Shannon is a lovely, creative and responsible person. Her home reflects that in many ways! As a traveling musician, I've stayed on many a couch. Our stops through Park Slope are some of the most comfortable, warm and cozy of them all! Which is a tough thing to find in NYC! The master bed (which I have been lucky enough to grab in the late mornings) is like climbing into a cloud. The other sleeping options are also delightful.
The building is classy and safe and the location is PERFECT for those that want to experience the city life AND be able to find some shade under a tree at Prospect Park. This place is a steal for what it offers compared to a hotel.
I would reserve quickly!
