The space was incredibly beautiful, clean, and quiet. It was everything we could want in a get-away from the city. Thanks Carrina!
We had such a good time in this neat, lovely and quiet cottage! Our hosts were very nice and helpful. We highly recommend this place for a lovely and relaxing stay in Salt Spring Island!
We loved the cottage. So wonderfully quiet for us urbanites! Unplugged. No WIFI. What a treat. The place had everything we needed and more. Fresh flowers from the garden in the kitchen and on the outside patio; deer watching us through the fence; a complete kitchen to prepare a few of our meals; a truly special place prepared with love. We spent three nights there and even managed to take in the Saturday Market in Ganges. A must! Thanks again Carrina. Shanti means peace and that's what we definitely experienced!
My stay at this cottage was a lovely experience. Carrina was flexible with our check in and out times and was sure to make sure we had everything we needed. The cottage is basic and cute. The backyard is quite pretty with her garden full of lavender and bees. The curb appeal of the place is not as cute as the interior. I felt comfortable the whole time. She also makes the BEST morning granola/cereal ever. I tried to get her to sell me a jar. I would most certainly stay again!
My friend and I decided to book a night on Salt Spring Island en route to Victoria where we had a hotel booked for the following two nights. Within 10 minutes of meeting out hosts, and viewing the board-and-batten cottage and its private garden, we decided to ditch our plans for Victoria and spend our vacation there. Fortunately the cottage was available and we settled in for three very comfortable days.
Carinna had stocked the fridge with fresh eggs, bread, homemade preserves, granola, juice, milk, coffee and tea. We foraged the Island's vegetable stands, vineyards, bakeries and shops finding fresh, local ingredients that we (my friend) turned into extraordinary meals which we ate in the garden surrounded by the scent of fresh herbs.
We rested, we read and we relaxed – and we laughed, a lot.
I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our time on the Island and at this cottage, it proved to be a wonderful retreat. I wouldn't hesitate to refer it to any of my friends and certainly hope to be back again, myself.
