John was waiting to greet us and made us feel welcome immediately. The apartment looks just like the pictures. We were very comfortable the entire stay. John was available to answer any questions we had. His place is within walking distance to a trolley car that we took to town/French Quarter each day we were there. If you take it, be sure you have extra time as it moves quite slow with frequent stops. But there was so much to look at while we rode. We really enjoyed using it.
Le logement est très bien. Il est bien situé et très calme. John devait être absent à notre arrivée mais il s'est bien assuré que nous avions toutes les consignes. Il a su respecter notre intimité tout en s'assurant que nous ne manquions de rien. Merci.
John was a great host, checking in regularly as we initiated our stay. The apartment was clean and open and felt very homey. I loved that it was in the middle of a REAL neighborhood - we made friends with the little girl next door! Thanks John for a wonderful stay!
My husband and I recently stayed in John's basement apartment when we visited for spring break and enjoyed our stay. The apartment has many positives. It is close to the expressway and also close to Tulane University where our son attends. The bed is comfortable, the shower is really nice, and the linens smell great. The heat and AC both work quickly and kept me comfortable at all times. Street parking is a plus. John is very flexible and did communicate very well answering all of my questions. It is a cozy apartment with an eclectic neighborhood.
My wife, son, and I stayed at John's place over the weekend. It provided ample space and is on a quiet street away from the business of the city. It's in a great location, particularly if you are interested in an uptown experience and it is close to thouroughfares and public transportation. John was a great host and was very comprehensive and timely with information we needed before our arrival.
My goal was to give my sister a true taste of New Orlean's wonderful culture. As she walked in, she exclaimed, "Wow, this is amazing!" John was so friendly and helpful, ready to give advise every time we texted him for information. Our stay there was a pleasant experience.
My husband and I are repeat guests at John's airbnb. We plan our trips around the dates that the apartment is available. John is a great host. He continues to improve the apartment. It is a great place to stay.
A lovely neighbourhood including the intriging style of New Orlean's homes. It's also centrally located to the airport, and attractions such as the business district (French Quarter), and the WWII Museum. John's communication and directions were excellent. The suite was lovely and inviting as we entered into a lighted living room with soft jazz playing in the background. There was a welcoming note and a lovely bottle of wine awaiting us. There was nothing lacking for our comfort and ease. The pics don't do this renovated suite justice. The woodwork is reclaimed wood from the devasting hurricane that left this heritage home damaged. When we return to New Orleans we'll be sure to try and stay with John again. This airbnb is highly recommended.
John was very welcoming and had thought of everything guests would need: from plentiful information about New Orleans to fresh linens to coffee, milk, sugar and condiments in the fridge. The apartment is well furnished with everything you could need: good selection of pots and pans for anyone wanting to cook, comfortable places to sit and relax (or work if necessary), and a very comfortable bed and great shower. In particular, we appreciated John's promptness in communicating with us by email and the very explicit directions he sent well in advance of our trip. Highly recommend this listing, especially to anyone who wants the convenience of a full apartment with a little room to spread out. The apartment is cozy, but also big enough that it can accommodate different activities at different times. John was very responsive and willing to do anything he could to make us feel at home.
John kept up a great dialogue both by phone and email. The apartment was very clean and cozy, and in a nice neighbourhood, quite accesible to public transportation or personal driving.
John (& Jess) were a pleasure to host. John was very communicative before arriving at our house, during their stay, and as they were checking out. They left our house in wonderful shape and even started a load of laundry on their way out. They offered a true appreciation for the area and the value of pure relaxation. It was a pleasure to get to know them, we would look forward to hosting them again! - Wendy & Rich
We enjoyed having you all!
Hosting John and Leslie was a pleasure. They were amiable, easy-going and gregarious guests. Their flexibility with our schedules was much appreciated. We would love to have them back again and would highly recommend them to anyone!
John is a wonderful host--very amiable, and extremely helpful. The apartment is convenient, comfortable, and very nicely furnished. It feels like a home away from home in a way that apartments I've rented in other cities never have.
