i like movies, food, beach
Very enjoyable experience at this homestay. The rooms are nice and the staff very helpful. The location is a 10 minute bike ride from the main part of town which isn't bad at all. They offer free bikes which was very nice, I rode one to the beaches east and north of the city. The only thing keeping this rating from being excellent was the chicken that chose to scream all night long outside the walls behind my room which made sleeping harder than normal. My flight out made me have to leave at 6 am and the staff were up early to give me a nice breakfast before I left, very nice of them. All in all a very good experience.
Amazing stay. Perfect perfect location. Couldn't have been better. Two nights, Ruby was an extraordinary and wonderful.
Thank you for making our stay so fulfilling.
Orchid Garden is a quaint homestay nestled along the main road to Hoi An - conveniently close to the riverfront action in Old Town, yet distant enough to find serenity at the end of your day.
The warm hospitality shown by Khuong Phung and his staff was top notch, from personal recommendations on restaurants and local attractions to the free bicycles made available for guests who feel like peddling their way around town. Given the rainy season during our stay, the made-to-order breakfast every morning was a particularly nice touch.
Hoi An itself was a real gem to explore and this just happened to be the perfect place to call home for a few nights....
Until next time!
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Orchid Garden Homestay in Hanoi for 4 nights just recently in October 2013. Our expectations were high due to the ratings and I can say that every expectation was met and exceeded. We stayed in the bungalow right next to the pool. It was a very comfortable stay.
Before arriving I hadn't noticed the word "homestay" in the name of the residence. I became concerned that we would be staying in a single house with other people, but that was not the case. From what I saw, all rentable accommodation is private. The pool is a great place to socialize with other guest though.
The location of the hotel is perfect in my opinion. They even provide complimentary bicycles to guests. The hotel is a quick bike ride from both the beach and the Old Town. I hadn't ridden a bicycle in years and it was really fun. Before arriving I was a bit concerned about riding a bicycle on the roads in Vietnam because of what I saw in Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi. No need to worry though. Hoi An has much less traffic so I felt very confident and comfortable riding around.
On our second or third night staying there, the hotel hosted a free dinner for all guests. So nice! ! They made local specialties including Hoi An pancake, spring rolls, and Cao Lau. Very delicious and unexpected.
Speaking of food, the breakfast every morning is served fresh and made to order. Fresh fruit, Fresh juice, coffee, all kinds of eggs, baguette, cereals, and pancakes. I had the pineapple pancake on the last day and it was..... awesome.
Our last night was one of Hoi An's worst... it was when Typhoon Nari hit. The storm went all through the night; kind of scary in my opinion. We emerged from our bungalow early in an effort to find some kind of transportation to the airport. We saw the storm's damage: a tree in front of our door, a tree in the pool, broken lanterns... My heart was broken for the owners. To my surprise, they were all smiles and cheery. Their main goal was to ensure that all guests were comfortable and taken care of. The breakfast was even still served with no delay! Still delicious as ever. We had to stick around for a few hours until the wind died down. By 11 am, all of the mess was basically cleaned up. Almost as good as new.
Hoi An was a pleasure to visit and I give most of the credit to Orchid Garden Homestay. I strongly recommend visiting.
