Roger was extremely accommodating and communicative throughout our month's stay. The house itself, a solid and sound Victorian, was airy and bright with magnificent views of seascape sunrises from the upper bedroom floors. Upon arrival we felt an immediate sense of hospitality.
The house's location couldn't be better! Ideal, with an abundance of nearby restaurants and shops and is a short walk to the DART (train) which is only a 15-20 minute ride north to the bustling city center or head 15 minutes south to have a more rural experience with a stop in Dalkey village for lunch followed by a trail walk to the quarry and Killiney Hill. Fantastic views of both the coast and the city!
Overall, not a problem was had and we'd highly recommend, to any family, considering a vacation in Dublin!
Thanks, Roger! Hopefully we can do it again sometime!
Roger and Isabelle were fantastic hosts to me and my friend! The room and bathroom were perfect with a beautiful view of the pier, and they provided us with everything we could need including yummy snacks. They also provided us with great advice, helping us to decide where to visit during our trip and how to get there. We only wish we were there for a longer stay! Would definitely recommend!
We felt very welcome in this family and were very happy with the fact that they had put up a nice baby bed and provided a baby bath tub for our baby daughter! Everything was there, towels, cereals, chocolates, ... to make us feel at home. The hosts were very kind and friendly and their children were very sweet and calm. We felt at ease, in a peaceful place, comfy, cosy and we slept very good!
I was not expecting such a warm friendly family or welcome in Roger's house.
The extra's such as shampoo, soap, fruit and cornflakes, tea and coffee were highly appreciated and such a thoughful touch.
Absolutely fab stay, amazing views, bathroom across from the room is shared with the Aupair. This was not a problem.
I cannot fault anything and would definately stay again if the need arises.
I just loved to stay in Roger's and Isabelle's house.
The house is huge, the room I stayed in very big, nice, clean and quiet. I slept wonderfully, could work very well at a nice wooden desk and I loved to look at the beautiful view out of the window or to walk at the pier. The bathroom is nice and clean. I shared it with one other person who stayed next room, but that was not at all a problem (and Roger had told me in advance). Roger and Isabelle are very welcoming, warmhearted and it is beautiful to stay with such a wonderful family. Roger did even buy a kettle and all what is necessary to have a nice cup of tea in my room without having to go down in the kitchen. I can highly recommend Roger's place and also the Olivetto, a very good italian restaurant just a few steps further on the same street!
Mirjam was the ideal guest. It was a real pleasure for us to host her in our home. Mirjam is welcome back any time!
Super family home in a fantastic location with stunning views. I would definitely recommend this house. We are a family of five who came over from France and the house was perfect.
This property is simply stunning. 5 large bedrooms, 2 with picture window views of the pier, Dublin Bay, stretching all the way to the horizon and Howth Head. The house is in perfect condition, bright and airy and stylish, with a full kitchen and TWO lovely garden spaces.
The location, on a quiet terrace, gives the impression of being in a serene seaside village, but around the corner is the hustle and bustle (and restaurants, cafes, shopping, and bars) of Dun Laoghaire. A 5 minute walk to the Dart Station provides effortless access to Dublin City (a 15 minute train ride).
Perfect for a large family who want the best of both privacy and endless amenities.
Roger and his family were excellent guests. They were very respectful of the neighbors and were very discreet in their comings and goings (an important point in Paris residential apartment buildings!). They were good at communicating and I have no reservations about recommending them highly to other hosts.
Roger et sa famille sont des gens très agréables à vivre, avec un grand respect du bien d'autrui. Ils ont totalement l'esprit AirBandB. Bravo !!!
