Scott and I really felt at home! The breakfasts were delicious! I really appreciated special accommodations made for us due to our diet allergies! The deck is a special place to view the harbour and we got to see the Super Moon on Aug 10 from there! Naoni's daily lists of activities to do on the island were great! The names on the board were very helpful to help recall people's names for all of us guests!
An extremely professional couple. Greg greets andmakes sure that his guests know where everything is. He runs the galley/kitchen and produces a diversity of warm breakfasts. Naoni makes sure that she knows every guest by name and, during breakfast time, is solicitous of all their needs. She is extremey kind. The accommodation is comfortable with quality finishes - though our bathroon was across the hallway and not en-suite.
The Sherwood room is a well appointed basement room to flop and drop, not much more. The fishing motif will please the angler in you. We slept well in the bed, even on the first night. Our private bath was across the hall. Fortunately our unkempt, before coffee appearances didn't frighten the other guests as we were not spotted. The rooms chilled us to the bone, being Arizonans, but the space heater resolved that. Washington chilled us to the bone, but I would come back and maybe try an upstairs room.
If you are an outdoors person and want to explore on foot, bike or kayak, the lite breakfast will not take you very far. There are excellent options in Friday Harbor. Greg will direct you to some fine eateries on the island.
Naoni is an excellent conversationalist. Her delightful chatter got the table talk rolling. And we did cross paths with those guests later on the island. It was great.
This was only our second stay using AirBnB. Our first one had gone well and this being an established B and B, we were a little less trepidatious. I had let Naoni and Greg know that we had a kayaking trip and we would be checking in afterwards which they were fine with. I had hoped to send a communication as we were on the way to let them know also, but cell coverage is poor on the island and I was unable to do so. Still, they were very accomodating. We had initially tried to book one of their cheaper rooms, but as those had all been booked, we were offered a room with a private bath for the same rate which was awesome. The room was clean and well appointed with nautical themed books and nicnacs. The bed was THE BEST part. The bed and bedding were soft and comfy. We ended up sleeping in. The only small draw back - and this is maybe mostly an issue with rooms down the hall which are farther from the modem, is that wifi was spotty in our room. But all you have to do is move out to the common areas and it was fine there. And just an FYI: apparently their B and B has been marked as one of the best places to kiss in the Northwest. : ) Cute.
Noani and Greg are ideal guests. They left the place even cleaner than they found it, and they even left a fresh loaf of bread as a "thank you"! We had great communication leading up to their stay, and I felt very comfortable having them stay with us. I would recommend them any day.
Naoni and Greg were great! They were communicative and friendly. We would rent to them again.
