The room was exactly as described - warm and cozy. There is an opportunity for some socializing with the hosts in the living room and a large private bedroom for some quiet time and rest. They also offer free Internet.
As for the hosts, they were great at maintaining communication and answering all of my questions prior to my arrival. I didn't get a chance to meet Dawn, but I met Andy and he's great. If I'm ever back in the Rochester area I will be staying with Dawn and Andy without a doubt.
Had a nice experience in Rochester! Room was quite large, very comfy bed, and really lovely neighborhood that I felt comfortable walking around in. Key system was easy to use. I was running in and out on a funny timetable and so only got to meet Dawn once, but she was very friendly and welcoming!
I spent one night and it was very good, room was clean and big, bus stops are very near, I felt very safe walking around the neighborhood, its very close form the airport and from the main attractions of rochester, not to mention the great price per night. I didnt meet the hosts but I met Merzouk he was very nice and helpful. If I ever go to Rochester again Ill stay here again. 100% recommended
Dawn was great. She was communicative and cooperative and the room she provided was spacious and comfortable. I would stay here again any time I am in Rochester.
The room was really big, cozy and very comfortable. In the morning, you can open the curtains to observe the snow or even feel the suns bright light. Dawn was helpful and welcomed my questions. The instructions of how to open and lock the door, internet usage were informative. I have passed a quiet and pleasant time.
The room is actually quite large, with a nice comfy bed. Check in/out was super easy. Location is convenient for getting downtown (there is a bus stop a 1 minute walk away). Just what I needed.
This was my first AirBnB experience and I was pleased with how it went. I stayed for one night and came in late, so, I didn't have a chance to meet Dawn. Andy was there, however, and was very hospitable. I recommend staying here during your time in Rochester.
Dawn and Andy are great hosts. Very pleasant vibe in the house. Spacious room with a comfortable futon bed, kitchen and wi-fi as advertised. Also, space in the garage for my bike. Very convenient to the UR campus. The stairs are creaky, as others have noted, but it didn't wake me up or bother me at all. I would definitely stay there again.
I kept leaving early and coming home late the whole time I stayed, so I didn't get to meet Dawn or any of the animals, but Andy was very nice. There were other housemates that I heard banging around but I never met them either. I am allergic to cats but had no problems whatsoever in the house. The room was airy and spacious with thoughtful conveniences like a desk and clothing hooks. As other people have noted, the floorboards creak like crazy. It didn't bother me except I felt guilty when I came in late at night and left early in the morning! The location was perfect for me, a mile or so from the University of Rochester River Campus. The immediate neighborhood is residential and lovely. Would stay here again!
Very nice and large room. I didn't get to meet Dawn for I was up early and home late for work. but I felt the warmth and uniqueness of their place in my stay. I had a positive experience with this rental... make sure if you are a light sleeper to bring a noise machine, ear plugs, etc. The house is old and all sounds outside of the room can be heard. But other than that, this was a great deal and in a central location to Rochester.
:) I know. We may have the creakiest wood floors. No point in trying to tip toe down the steps! We sleep with a fan or humidifier ever night. Great advice!
