I'm a geographer and a professor of urban studies and planning in Portland, Oregon, with a focus on urban agriculture and food systems. I've lived, studied, and worked in Mali, Senegal, Haiti, Nepal, Bangladesh, Brazil, Mexico, Guatemala, France, and Canada. My wife and I have two beautiful daughters, one a toddler and the other a newborn.
