Asunto vastasi hyvin palvelun kautta saamaani kuvaa. Asunto on erittäin siisti ja sijaitsee rauhallisella aluella. Sijainti oli meille erittäin hyvä. Saana oli meitä asunnolla vastassa sovittuna aikana ja majoittuminen meni sujuvasti, hyvät ohjeet asunnossa kertoivat selkeästi missä majoittujat voivat säilyttää tavaroitaan.
We had a great time! The apartment is located within 15-20 minutes walking from the city center, otherwise you can take tram to get there. Very cozy and comfortable place, suitable for those who like quiet surroundings. The district itself is relatively new as well as the house. Everything you might need is at your disposal in the apartment. Saana was friendly and of great help to us.
The host Saana
Before I arrived I had some contact via Airbnb about wifi, time of arrival etc. I arrived in the middle of the night (around 1 AM) and that wasn't a problem. Saana welcomed me, showed me around in the apartment and showed me the most important features.
There were quite a lot of signs on closets saying not to open because personal belongings were in there. The first time I've had this in my life as Airbnb guest (have been using Airbnb for about 10 times in the last 5 months). It is kind of logical not to sniff around I think. It also had some signs saying that the guest was welcome to use certain closets. Maybe it should be limited to this more positive approach.
There was a clear description on how to use for example the washing machine, wifi, tv, some leaflets about what's going on in Helsinki etc. Also during my stay Saana texted me some nice restaurants to visit etc.
Overall: friendly person, reacted fast on questions.
The apartment itself was nice. Nice new building, central square. Not too much natural light, but enough other lights to find your way:-). The kitchen had everything you need, the bathroom was big enough and nice and clean. Using the shower while in the bathtub was kind of difficult/small. Maybe I didn't use it the right way. Not sure. But it made me clean:-) The water doesn't flow out of the tub that fast which makes that when you're having a shower you will have water up to your ankles. The bedroom was nice with a window to the glassed balcony. The bed slept well. The living room was nice as well.
The apartment is not too big, but it is very cosy. And how much space do you actually need?! I liked it!
Close to the apartment is a metro station, tram stop, boat to Tallin. Also quite a few shops are just 5 min walk away, some restaurants, Cafe Amsterdam (being Dutch I noticed). Walking to the city centre takes you about 15-20 minutes. Partly along the harbor and then along a nice boulevard called Boulevard to 'the old' city centre. Also about 20 min walk to the big stores, 30 min to the train station. If you had the nice weather I had not a problem. If it's cold and rainy maybe a little far. But then you have the tram and metro I suppose. Also a bicycle highway to the train station: really convenient if you bring a bike (or if Saana can provide one). Great jogging track (at least if you only need 30 min of track like me:-)
Would I come back?
If I could find a similar apartment at the same price in the city centre probably not...but if there is no such a place: definitely yes!
Saana has a very lovely apartment. I was there for 4 days with my girlfriend and we felt homely there right from the arrival. It's very easy to reach the city by tram from there. We also went to Tallinn for one day, the ferry is just a 5min walk away ;)
Thank you for your hospitality :)
Me and my two friends had a great time at Saana's appartment. She was very hospitable and made us feel very welcome to Helsinki. She explained everything to us and we could always message/call her for more information or tips. The apartment was very beautiful and new, it was perfect for the 3 of us to stay for a week and explore the city as it was located very central and close to a tram stop that went all the way through the centre. There is the possibility to cook for yourselves and wash your clothes.
Saana's apartment was located in a very pretty eco-friendly area. It is the perfect size for a couple.
She's probably the best host I've ever had the chance to meet. She explained every single detail with us in a nice & friendly way.
I would come back to her apartment anytime!
Beautiful apartment! Saana was a very nice person and she give us a lot of tips for restaurants and other sights.
Thank you for your hospitality. The apartment is nice and easy to find with the tram.
