The host canceled my reservation 4 days before arrival.
Although I did not have the chance to meet Thomas or Olivia they were both very friendly through email and very easy to get in contact with. Everything ran smoothly, the place is great and the apartment was very warm which we appreciated, being the middle of winter. Can only say good things about the apartment, Thomas and Olivia. Hope to come back to NYC soon and get the chance to meet them both. Highly recommend this rad apartment!
Thomas is a really outgoing and friendly guy. He actually left us in the care of a friend while he was abroad, but she was also superfriendly and helpfull. Thomas gave me all kinds of tips about museums, where to go and what not to miss.
His apartment was great for our group (3 people) spacious and with a nice roof terras. I did a couple of workouts there, so I hope I didn't freak the neighbours out too much :)
One thing that was a challenge for us was the walking. Going by subway is still a lot of walking, and my mom being 59 at the end of the week she was a little tired.
Other than that a great experience. Thanks Thomas!
Thomas's place was fantastic! My four friends and I loved it. It is not like in the pictures - it's better. His apartment is like a madcap curios shop with all sorts of cool/strange/random books and things that make you say, "Who IS this guy?" He was great in trying to work with our schedule for check-in and out. Unfortunately the fates conspired against us and we didn't get a chance to meet face-to-face, but from our communications he seemed like an awesome fella. Oh, and Athom Cafe, right near his apartment, has fantastic coffee. Fan.Tast.Ic. Staying in Bushwick (right next to the J,Z,M and a short walk to the L) puts you in a spot to easily explore Brooklyn and Manhattan, or to just kick it ol' school. I would recommend Thomas and his loft to anyone, anytime.
Thomas was as amazing as his place. I was stuck in NY after the Irene hurricane and Thomas was really helpful in getting us out of trouble.
The place was chill, clean and well-located as advertise. Totally watched a tons of comic thanks to the projector while the hurricane was blowing :P
I would highly recommend this place (minus the hurricane maybe)
Thomas is great and the place was perfect - comfortable and stylish. Convenient too - super close to the subway and easy to get to manhattan and back. The Athom cafe down the street has the best croissants i've ever tasted in my life (and an amazing variety - a must do if you are staying there!)
We had a perfect stay. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. The pictures are very accurate. A short walk to the subway. We will definitely stay there again.
Thomas's apartment was gorgeous and full of character. Filled will cool and quirky things, you really feel like you're a funky Brooklyn local. The apartment was extremely clean and comfortable, and Thomas was friendly and very helpful. This area of Brooklyn is not for the faint-hearted, but I didn't feel unsafe, and the apartment is secure, and a little oasis of its own. Train stations are within walking distance, or cabs are really cheap compared to Australia. Overall, Thomas is a great host who went out of his way to make everything easy for me.
Thomas has been a great host. Super fast at responding to all my enquiries and very welcoming when we got there. He left us the run of the place - we loved the loft space and the eclectic decor. There is a cool setup to watch films projected on the wall on Netflix from his Wii. We liked breakfasts at Athom Cafe nearby, and proximity to the Subway. Thumbs up.
Thomas was great to communicate with and super fast to respond. The place was lovely, fun and well located; definitely an asset to our whole New York experience. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
