Hi, I'm Alex. I'm a photographer specialising in theatre - I have a lot of flexibility in my work so I like to take advantage of it and go away to travel a bit when I can!
Sometimes I like to travel alone - if I have my camera with me it means I am not annoying people by making them wait while I hunt out a good shot! Or I like company - long walks and long conversations while exploring on foot is a lovely way to see somewhere.
Food is very important to me - I love trying new dishes and new cuisines. Many of my best memories are based around amazing meals - tempura in Kyoto, smørrebrød in Copenhagen, pretty much anything in New York City ...
I am always interested to learn more about different cultural and artistic traditions. I like to spend time seeing and finding out about different countries' art and architecture and their cultural background.
I'm a very considerate houseguest. I have a hearing impairment and, because this means that I struggle sometimes with noisy environments, I am quite quiet by nature. Also, to avoid getting bogged down at airports I tend to pack very light, so I take up the minimum amount of space! I'm a friendly, thoughtful person, and I am good at getting on with lots of different people and putting them at their ease (a necessity in my work!)
That's a labrador in my picture, by the way.
