Elodie was the prefect host: extremely helpful and responsive while giving us our space. She was very accommodating despite our late night arrival and delayed checkout. I cannot rave enough about her loft -- ideal corner location and walking distance from my favorite spots in Paris' Latin Quarter. It's also right across the street from the Rue Du Bac Metro stop and on a major bus line which makes getting anywhere in Paris quick and easy. The loft is two stories and very spacious with gorgeous views of Blvd St. Germaine. Although it's not air conditioned, you get a heavenly cross breeze by opening the windows. The narrow hallway and steep stairs makes it challenging to take up suitcases but well worth it. I will definitely book this place again the next I visit Paris.
Really conveniently located apartment - easy walking distance with our kids to major attractions such as the Eiffel Tower, Louvre etc. Velib bike rental stand very close by too, which we used to get everywhere.
Elodie made everything super-easy, even when we arrived on the Bastille Day holiday.
Apartment is above a wonderful bakery - don't worry, didn't disturb us, was just lovely to have breakfast at our doorstep.
Was just as described and we were really pleased with how it all worked out. I have stayed in Paris many times, but this was my first on the Left Bank and the location made it my best trip yet.
In short, we would very much recommend this apartment and Elodie as a host.
Elodie was a wonderful host to our family, welcoming us at her apartment upon arrival in Paris, and making sure the space was set up for our stay. She provided clean sheets, towels, an extra air mattress and keys and access code, making it really easy to get comfortable. She was and still remains responsive to all e-mails and text messages and is very easy to work with. She even helped us on the fromt end figure out best transportation to her apartment from the airport.
We were blown away by the location alone, but the real treat is walking through the building (peeking into the boulangerie on the first floor and the garden in the atrium) and opening the doors to this gracious apartment. Windows open out to view St. Germain and Rue du Bac, and you really couldn't ask for a more Parisian experience. An absolute gem of an apartment, huge in size, and bursting with character!
Most importantly, the space is clean and comfortable. We had 4 guests in the apartment, my husband and myself, and my parents. There was a need for us to have our own rooms, while at the same time being able to gather together in the living room. This was easily achievable in Elodie's space. In fact, you could easily add another two + to your stay without feeling cramped. While there is only one full bathroom, there are two additional half baths, so we managed perfectly.
When we first arrived there was a minor problem with one bathroom drain. I mention this because I contacted Elodie immediately, and she had the problem resolved by the time we returned from our first day of exploring Paris. I appreciated her attention to this matter, and the professional way she managed the issue.
The apartment is very close to many cafes, great shopping, and my favorite, Le Bon Marche! If I had one complaint it would only be that the apartment is so lovely, you might end up staying inside more than going out! My family loved getting wine and cheese nearby and enjoying it in the kitchen or living room, while watching the World Cup on the flat screen TV, or simply watching life go by in the square below us. My husband and I are in our late 20's, but my parents in their late 60's, and there is something here for everyone.
Metro access is very easy, cab stand directly outside, and you can really get lost exploring the area on foot. We love the galleries behind the Musee D'Orsay, and Le Relais D'Entrecote for steak frites.
I would strongly suggest this apartment, and if we are back to Paris next summer again for work, we will be sure to book with Elodie.
